But you know, that does not certainly mean he didn't care for her romantically 0% whatsoever, you know how Sasuke was all the way till the final fight, he doesn't reveal his feelings.
I believe his romantic feelings started in 699, but in hindsight, I find it quite plausible that Sasuke held hidden romantic feelings for Sakura earlier, no matter how small, but he was so consumed with his goals that they were irrelevant till his redemption.

For one it was her job to protect the old guy, and sasuke insisted on saving her, even know she was armed and ready to strike. Don't forget that her eyes were the sharpest and her analytical ability was vastly superior to sasukes , he said it himself.
