As we know Sasuke in Part 1 and Part 2 had the Curse Seal, but wasn't aware about Senjutsu or Sage mode until he battled Kabuto. Sasuke has seen how powerful Sage mode makes Kabuto, Hashirama and Minato yet Sasuke never bothered to learn or train for Sage mode.

Itachi and Kabuto practically told Sasuke the location to train Sage Mode, Sasuke can always ask Kabuto for the details of the location, yet doesn't.

I am sure after VOTE 2 Sasuke has greatly surpassed Kabuto, Jiraiya, Minato and Hashirama. Sasuke should in theory have enough chakra and stamina to learn Sage Mode.

I don't wanna say plot but I'm gonna say plot.

Sasuke with sage mode in addition to his current abilities is overkill. I always questioned why Sasuke didn't use the copying ability of the sharingan after he used it once with Lee's taijutsu and I came to the same conclusion. Pretty convenient how he couldn't watch the prelims (and had to be the last one out to fight during the main exam matches) when he could have stayed and copied most people's abilities there and then.

That is a good point, Sasuke not being able to watch the entire Chuunin Exam tournament was plot for Sasuke not to be able to copy his opponent jutsu.

I guess Sasuke not wanting to learn Sage Mode is plot. Sasuke didn't care if it was eye power or body power, Sasuke just wanted powers that is all.

Sasuke is the only Curse Seal user able to do partial transformation, something only Juugo can do. Sasuke was able to use the Curse Seal without any negative effect like in Part 1.

Only those with a compatible body can survive the Curse Seal.

CS IS DSM. Simply a modified one. To answer your question, then he never thought he required it as Amaterasu affects NE, as shown through Kabuto's and Kaguya's incident.

We know there are 3 Sage Mode, these are the Sage Mode we know:

Sage Mode from the frogs which Naruto, Jiraiya and Minato use
Sage Mode from the Snake which Kabuto use and Mitsuki
Unknown Sage Mode, which Hashirama use

It would fit Sasuke well to use Dragon Sage Mode, since his master Orochimaru and Kabuto are snake user along with himself a snake user.
