I just looked em both up, and they're more similar than you think:
Sasori's poison:
- Requires only a scratch
- Paralyzes you and leaves you in pain for 3 days until you die
- Doesn't require chakra and doesn't have bad consequences depending on how it's used.
Itachi's Tsukuyomi:
- Victim must look Itachi in the eyes
- You will be tortured for 3 days but you won't die
- Requires a lot of chakra and puts much strain on the body
Only two people in the world can make an antidote for it, and the only way
to escape a tsukuyomi is with another MS. I'm not trying to be a fanboy but
I think he's being underrated...
