Yes he's really strong, mostly he's under-rating by others. But we don't know how he captured 3rd Kazekage. I don't think he fought against him. I believe he poiosned him. Simple assasination.

If you can show me the manga page? I'll rep for this, because i don't remember "fair 1vs1 battle " thing really. He just said hardest to capture or something like that.Nope. It is stated that they had a fair 1vs1 battle, and Sasori himself said that he was the toughest opponent he ever fought.
Well, isn't 1vs1 battle a fair one? He captured him, got him away from people, and then fought him.
Maybe not completely fair battle, because Sasori planned the attack, but it was the Kazekage after all.

It depends, does sasori view the village as art? I think the problem is he wouldnt protect the people well enough, he would just view them as expendable.

I'm saying that too we don't know and i just think he attacked sneakly. It's just an opinion but Sasori is the strongest Shinobi in Hidden (with 3rd kazekage puppet)

he didnt beat third in a straight fight, he had to poison him.
