jiraiya needs time to go into hermit mode and by the time he does, sasori will use his senbon and iron sand.

Fighting sasori without the knowledge that chiyo had is too difficult, I don't think anyone who isn't completely immune to poison can win that battle. Best shot is to escape and get an antidote before you die, although, you probably wouldn't get that far if you look at how kakuro was paralised almost immediately.
And then the bastard still has two hundred puppets to spam poisonous senbon at ya if you destroy hiruko and there is still the sandaime kazekage and sasori's own body to deal with, too many unknown levels to bypass before you can kill him if you ask me.
No, no one but Hidan and pein, and tobi stand a chance, hidan because he is imortal, pein because his body is not there and shinra tensei. And tobi because of intangibility.
Jiraiya might be able to defend against being hit if he uses hari jizo but than he can't stay on the defense forever.
Swamp of the underworld might help but then sasori can just use his. Iron sand to levitate himself.
That combination jutsu with the toad sages might work, if it can bypass an iron sand shield, but that is a very big if.
I say sasori wins with high difficulty.

It depends. If Sasori will manage to poison base Jiraiya (which is copletely possible, dodging all of Sasoris poisoned shit is hard task if you dont have knowledge about his weapon mechanisms like Chiyo had), then the outcome will be clear - Jiraiyas ass will be handet to Sasori. However, if Jiraiya will manage to activate SM he will have an advantage. Still, even in SM getting through Iron Sand would be very hard for J-man. Overall, I think that their chances are equal.
