Looks: Due to Sasori turning his own body into a puppet his physical appearance remains young regardless of his age. His hair is of short to medium length and is a red color. His eyes are a soft brown that usually seem void of any emotion. His age of appearance is around eighteen despite being thirty five. He normally wears the typical Akatsuki robe that is black with red clouds. Underneath the robe he is shirtless exposing his puppet body. In the center of his chest is a cylindrical piece that holds his heart and is the source of his life.
Personality:
As a child, Sasori always seemed sad, due to the lack of parental love. When introduced to the art of puppetry by his grandmother, Chiyo, he grew a little happier. He eventually created puppets with the likeness of his parents, but when the puppets couldn't give him the parental love he desired, he became cold and uncaring. This led to him having little regard for human life, and he went so far to state that he would feel nothing if Chiyo died, as he claimed that his heart had become like his puppet body: without any emotions. Despite his cruelty, Sasori also had been shown to possess a very down-to-earth outlook on life, rarely growing worked up over obstacles that came his way. He also rarely showed any extreme emotions, and even these instances were short-lived. Despite his lack of emotions he displayed some memory of love for his parents during the conclusion of his battle against Chiyo. This led him to allow himself to be hit in the final attack.
Sasori was also known for his impatience, as he repeatedly noted that he did not wish to wait or keep others waiting, which was quite ironic since he had all the time in the world due to his puppet body. Sasori and his second partner in Akatsuki, Deidara, both had conflicting views of art, and they frequently argued about their different views. Deidara maintained the opinion that art was something transient that departs quickly, where as Sasori believed that fine art is something wonderful that is left long into the future. This reflected their individual natures; Deidara made clay sculptures which exploded, while Sasori created long-lasting puppets out of humans. Nevertheless, Deidara outwardly seemed to respect Sasori's beliefs, although Sasori never respected Deidara's.

- Puppetry: Sasori is a master of using puppets, possibly the strongest puppeteer of all time. It was said that a puppeteer's strength was determined by the number of puppets they could control at a time. Sasori was able to use 100 puppets at once.
- Human Puppetry: A technique created by Sasori, human puppetry involved turning a defeated opponent's body into a puppet that retained its chakra nature and unique abilities. After turning the body of the 3rd Kazekage into a human puppet, Sasori was able to use it to control Iron Sand.
- Poison: Sasori concocted a potent poison that coated every single one of his weapons. This poison was almost guaranteed to be fatal from even the slightest scratch until an antidote was created by Sakura. The effects of the poison took over quickly, but the person would live for up to three days in agonizing pain before succumbing.

Background Info.
History:
When Sasori was young, his parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake, leaving him with no one but his grandmother, Chiyo, to take care of him. To cheer up Sasori, Chiyo began to teach him the art of making puppets, and Sasori soon proved to be a born natural at the art. He began making puppets at the age of five, and even made puppets that resembled his parents to get rid of the terrible loneliness he felt. But because they were only puppets, incapable of giving him the natural parental love he desired, he lost interest in them. They later fell into Chiyo's possession.
Sasori, later infamously known as "Sasori of the Red Sand", created many ingenious puppets, including the ones that were owned by Kankurō. Twenty years before his introduction in the series, he left Sunagakure, though not before secretly kidnapping and killing the Third Kazekage (although his involvement in the Third's disappearance would not be discovered until around the time of his death). More than that, Sasori eventually converted himself into a human puppet to maintain his youthful appearance and increase his own offensive capabilities, but retained his heart - the only still-living part of his body - in a cylindrical container in the left part of his chest.
Sometime after leaving the village, Sasori joined Akatsuki, and was eventually paired with Orochimaru. They had great respect for each other during their partnership, and did many things together. After Orochimaru left Akatsuki (for trying to steal fellow member Itachi Uchiha's body, and failing), Sasori was teamed up with Deidara, although he always carried a grudge against his former partner. He sent Kabuto Yakushi to spy on Orochimaru, but Orochimaru dispelled Sasori's jutsu and convinced Kabuto to join him. Sasori was also shown having numerous other underlings and spies in many nations, such as Yūra and Mukade.
His first appearance in part II was when he and Deidara were sent to Sunagakure in order to capture Gaara. Sasori didn't so much during this part and allowed Deidara to complete the mission. After capturing Gaara and departing, the pair were followed by Kankuro. Sasori stopped to face Kankuro and quickly finished the battle by cutting Kankuro with Hiruko's tail, injecting a deadly poison. Kankuro was saved by Sakura who analyzed and developed an antidote to the poison, something that came as a great shock to Sasori.
Sasori is next seen when the leaf and sand team up in an attempt to rescue Gaara. While Deidara leads Kakashi and Naruto away from the area, Sasori enters battle with his grandmother Chiyo and Sakura. The battle was intense and cause Sasori to pull out all of his puppets. In the end his emotions returned for a brief moment when fighting the puppets of his parents. He allowed himself to be hit by Chiyo's final attack and was defeated.

Puppet Collection
- Hiruko: Hiruko is a strongly defensive puppet created by Sasori. It has an open compartment within its body that Sasori sits in most of the time. It has a long metallic tail that is sharp on all sides and is coated with Sasori's poison. Hiruko is slow moving but very difficult to destroy.
- 3rd Kazekage: The third Kazekage is a human puppet created by Sasori. It retains the kekkei genkai of Iron Sand which Sasori has shown great ability in using. It can release large amounts of Iron Sand from its mouth and has a magnetic compartment in its chest. Because of its strength this is one of Sasori's favorite puppets.
- 100 Puppet Collection: Sasori said he once took down an entire country with this collection. Using a compartment stored in his chest Sasori releases 100 chakra threads and summons 100 puppets which he controls at the same time. All of these puppets are past enemies whom Sasori killed and they all wield poison coated weapons.
- Sasori's Parents: After their deaths, Sasori created these two puppets to the likeness of hit parents trying to replace them and feel loved. This however didn't work so Sasori left them behind when he left Sunagakure.
- Sasori: This is Sasori's own body which he turned into a puppet to preserve its youth. He placed jets in the palms of his hands which can release blazing hot streams of fire or highly pressurized streams of water that can cut through solid rock. Twin blades appear on his back and can spin rapidly like helicopter blades. There is a metallic wire stored in his stomach that can extend to great distances. The only vulnerable part of this body is a cylinder kept in his chest that contains his heart.
- Salamander: Salamander was originally created by Sasori and later used by Kankuro. This puppet is a defensive puppet that is significantly weaker than Hiruko, possibly why its no longer used by Sasori. It was also seen to be able to emit fire from its mouth.
- Black Ant: Black Ant was originally created by Sasori and later found its way to Kankuro. It has two sharp red horns on its head, an elongated face and six arms. It contains several blades and hidden weapons.
- Crow: Crow was also created by Sasori and later used by Kankuro. It has three eyes and four arms. Like Black Ant it has several hidden compartments and weapons.
