Sarada >> Sakura

Like it's obvious but I wanted to share my opinion regardless.

Sarada is already better written than part 1 and early part 2 Sakura. She actually receives character development, has a great goal and more importantly: her team needs her.

You could literally erase part 1 Sakura from the story and no one would notice the difference. But with Sarada it's different. Her strength contributes a lot to the team. Sarada defeated so many opponents by now and doesn’t seem to be pairing fodder like the entire female cast of part 1 (with the exception of Temari?).

In terms of character development part 1 Sarada definitely out-shines Sakura. And I believe that part 1 Sarada will also catch up to early part 2 Sakura in strength too. The potential is there.

Its not that Sakura didn't get enough character development. She just lacked the personality and potential to be an interesting side character let alone a MC. So Sarada being better than her makes sense. Even ChoCho is a better character than part 1 Sakura lol.

if you are talking about power wise then yes for Part 1 but not for Part 2

And unlike Sakura, Sarada isn’t the third wheel on her team! She can not only keep up with them & compete but she can embarrass them as well based on ability only (Boruto more then Mitsuki the sage king).

I agree with OP. Sakura just didn't have anything to make her an interesting side character, let alone being pushed as a main character. It's like if they tried to make Ayame the main heroine.

I don’t think it’s shade at all, I think that it’s something we should clap for. The female characters in the original manga really lacked strength and communion compared to their male counterparts, the only instance I could think of that not being 100% true is Tsunade being saninn but even she is the least strong them. Sarada so far has been the overwhelming opposite but this is just my opinion of course.
