He looks like Sai 2.0 personality wise, but he's far more interesting than Boruto as a character. His moveset is interesting as well.

Sarada > Mitsuki > Konohamaru >>>>>>> Boruto imo
His story overall is the most interesting one (to me at least, ya know....Oro xD)
However, it's just lame to see him fanboy-ing Boruto all day :/
No will, no emotions, nothing....which is understandable for a synthetic human being, hope he will change later on.

Honestly I liked Sarada at the beginning but they're still going on with the she's all talk with nothing to show attitude like Sakura from the original and that's plain annoying. Boruto on the other hand is growing from his mistakes learning and changing which is always interesting to see.
He's the one who always takes command of the situation and Sarada kind of becomes the cheer leader having no problems following him then.
It'd be better if they make her a side if they want to continue on this road.
Mitsuki too while he's great at supporting Boruto has become a predictable character imo with him following Boruto everywhere. Its funny though but he reminds me of Sai in terms of personality but Sai wanted to grow socially. I'd like to see the same with Mitsuki. Other than that he's cool.

I can assure you that Sarada and Mitsuki, as side characters, are way more interesting than Boruto, the protagonist.

Their popularity among the fanbase is a proof of that. Boruto fails to deliver as a character.
That's a poor generalization and I don't know why you're so hellbent on popularity when that doesn't translate to quality. If anything I can assure popularity mostly stems from subjectivity and biasm rather than objectivity.

I reallly don't like Boruto and I used to be the person who prefer Mitsuki and Sarada over Boruto because of their promising start but in the end they ended up being strayed away from being their own individual characters.

The sad thing is that a character like Boruto who I personally find the least compelling character and his personality always rubbed me the wrong way (Which is an opinionated) ended up being the most define as a Protagonist. ( Which is being objective) I find myself more invested with Boruto than Mitsuki and Sarada because he has more depth and not because of his "style" as a character. (Again being objectivity again)

In the end, no how much distasteful Boruto is to some people like me, so far Boruto is still a better written character than Sarada and Mitsuki and he isn't suppossed to be that great which is a shame.

I mean tbh most of the new gen is boring and faces hardly any struggles. The only one shown to actually have suffered is Sumire IMO. None of them have had to face any real danger, death, war, slaughter, true loneliness.. etc. So all of them are basically copies of Naruto's gen without any brutal ninja world reality, add or take a few personality traits and abilities. Therefore, nearly all of them are "boring" with the logic you're using.

In reality, many of the face lesser struggles, but more realistic and average ones. The insane brutal ninja struggles will come in due time (look at the time skip alone). Personal battles will be fought by team 7 I'm sure. It's just the route they decided to start the story on in combination with the horrible pacing that makes this seem lack luster. (I mean it is, but it seems like things are picking up finally).

Sarada has to struggle with not seeing her father much at all and a lack of her mother for most of the weekdays (I assume). A struggle on a personal level that will (and has) lead to character development.

Mitsuki is still figuring out his direction and who he actually wants to be. Also a struggle at a personal level that leads to character development.

Boruto so far doesn't have to struggle with the seal and Jougan as of late, so it can be said his struggle is a father too busy and tired to really talk to him. A personal struggle that once again; leads to development.

I don't think that the problem is really with Sarada and Mitsuki's characters, rather it is with the amount of focus that the manga especially puts on solely Boruto. Think about it:

The movie arc mainly focused on Boruto.

Then the Shojoji/Tentou stuff was mainly Boruto/Tentou with very little involvement from Sarada and Mitsuki.

Even now in the Ao arc, it first just spent an excessive number of chapters trying to hammer into Boruto's head that technology is neither good nor evil inherently. It also develops somewhat of a relationship between Boruto and Ao. Now, it is more about Boruto, Ao, and Katasuke.

Sarada and Mitsuki get no shine.

Sarada and Mitsuki’s characters are bland as of now.

Where as Boruto has his own shortcomings and development that you can actually follow whether you like the characters or not. You don’t feel for Sarada or Mitsuki unless they’re interacting with Boruto which is expected.

Boruto isn’t like Naruto since he is the sole Main Character until Kawaki appears.

Perks of being a MC. Doesn’t have to share the spotlight with anyone. It’s his story and his journey.

It's more like Sarada abd Mitsuki don't have any personal conflict going on with their characters. Naruto wants to be aknowledged from the village and additionally in part 2 his goal to bring Sasuke back. Sasuke wants to kill his brother and thus getting stronger to do so.And even Sakura had some personal conflicts if being weaker than them.

Sarada doesn't have any and Mitsuki only wants to watch over and be friends with Boruto which may cause some sacrifice later on.

It only gets worse when Kawaki appears and the show only focusing on him and Boruto.

They all predominately had their own Focus Arcs, and even the Anime gives each of their characters their own moments.

But honestly long term there was nothing interesting about a Hokage candidate wanabe, and Mitsuki's character is okay, but he's goal-less.

Boruto said he wanted to be the shadow of Hokage :pick:

That's because he wants to be like Sasuke, very original of him.
That's never gonna happen and they him jougan to be even more similar to Sasuke.

About the rest of the comments , im not really sure whats going on lately but Sarada following and schooling Boruto is kinda annoying. She should have been character of her own (just like in gaiden manga) instead of stacking him 24/7 - To have her own progress and development

True he's akin to a skid mark under Sasuke's shoe but that's what he wants to be. The reason I mentioned it was because some people were trying to say how unoriginal the other 2 are.

As for Sarada being different in Gaiden I liked her a lot more, she's still the same she gives Boruto flack because he'll affect her goals. She considers failing missions etc as a bad thing for somebody who wants to become Hokage. And the fact that she's in a the same team with an immature little punk doesn't help either. The manga and anime focusing on Boruto doesn't help. I think it would be a lot better without him(Boruto) that way other characters could shine and get more development including Sarada.

I understand what you mean, but instead of talking/stacking/following or w.e the anime and the manga should give her own spotlight and progress. I want her to do things of her own instead of just following this (insertthe****ingwordherebrate) Her character became all about stacking Boruto instead of beeing her own character and it should be the opposite, i even saw the episode when they were eating in the cafe shop , she was even watching him while sitting with ChoCho...so every time we see Sarada we see her schooling Boruto or w.e is going on instead of doing things of her own and someone stacks her for example - for a change

I agree that's why it was a poor choice to make Boruto, when Kishi made Gaiden it felt as if he wanted Sarada to take the lead and base a manga around her. Instead we got Boruto which is all about him everybody else is irrelevant. The anime can't move too far from the manga and with Kodachi's writing style (low level) and Ikemoto's art I highly doubt anybody but Burito will get any real focus.
