a small sand storm picks up an sweeps across the area. It engulfs you and your surroundings, after what seemed like a few seconds the storm passed.
An left in its wake, meters in front of you lies Gaara of the Sand.
So, a young look a like wishes to learn the ways of Sand Release?
Apon looking you over head to toe, Gaara smiles.

Gaara stands silently, staring into the horizon, as a sudden sand storm overwhelms him, blocking his vision, as the sand hits his eyes. Guarding himself with his bare hands, Gaara stands there, as the storm slowly disappears. A slight smirk on his face appears, as he sees another Gaara, standing near him. It was said that there were 7 people on the entire Earth, who looked alike, but sharing the same name, body and abilities was truly unique. However, his doppleganger was a master of Sand, quite obvious from his confidence and his widespread stories. Maintaining his position, he listens to his shishou, as a smile emerges on his Shisou's face, as he speaks with the same tone as him, albeit more confident, to tell him everything he knew about Sand.
Closing his eyes for a while, Gaara recollects everything he knows and says,
"Sand is a KG, formed by manipulating nearby Earth. The surrounding Earth is crushed and grinded to form finely divided rock and mineral materials, thus creating Sand. It's slightly beige in color and it's thickness varies depending on the amount of chakra put. It's used mostly by shinbois of Sunagakure, but it's primary user is Gaara. Albeit he can create any sand, he keeps specially made sand, in his gourd, which is wore by him on his back like a bag. This increases the speed of his attacks and his versatility with sand, as he could create Sand prisons, sand clones, sand shields, sand clouds and so much more. Due to the number of minerals present in it, it can withstand very powerful attacks, as sand just crumbles and re-forms.
It's quite weak against lightning however, as lightning has pure destructive and piercing force, which can easily break through it. Weak against Water too, as it turns into hard mud when it clashes with Water.
Strong against Wind, as Sand is purely fine particles, which when come in contact with Wind, a sand storm forms. Similarly, when Sand is of a weaker Rank, and Wind of a high rank, Wind carries away the Sand particles, and instead re-directs it at the user himself. Very high ranked Sand is strong against Fire, but when it's of a very weaker rank, it turns into glass, due to the intensity and heat of the flames.

Good job, keep in mind Sand is quite strong against earth jutsus as well. You touched on the minerals a bit, there in lies it's strength against earth types. See sand can be manipulated and made stronger than earth walls or attacks as well as being able to change shape and keep that density. With the added power of being able to crush or grind the earth jutsus down to form more sand. Turn their attacks against them.
As you know, we do not create the sand as other ninja create their respective elements. This is both advantageous, and a drawback.
What ares the advantages and disadvantages of this?

I see. So you can destroy Earthen defences and then use the grinded Earth to use it as sand itself. Amazing.
Advantageous, as you can create sand, even when you're on watery sorts of terrain, and disadvantageous as there's a fixed limit on how much sand you can create in a single turn. Right?

Kinda, depending on the watersource you are battling on there will most likely be some form of sand\dirt under the water you can use if you get creative enough.
The sands disadvantage is also its advantage.
We are unable to conjure sand from chakra, so we are troubled with the task of carrying extra weight thus slowing our movements. Tho at the same time, our sand is prepared and kneaded with our chakra ahead of time so if a battle should occur. The sand is ready to move immediately. Not having to take the time to conjure chakra saves time drastically.
The sands disadvantage is also its advantage.

For instances a fight at the ocean may seem disadvantageous for Gaara because of the water. But with one jutsu to split the water like Moses or lead them closer to the beach and you have plenty of Sand to work with.

The chakra flows through the 361 points in my body, called the tenkutsus, as I channel chakra from my body, towards the sand, as I go into deep meditation, focusing on the properties of sand - fine and versatile.

Gaara observes his pupil working diligently to mold his chakra into the sand.
Once you feel you have saturated the sand with enough of your chakra to make it obedient, work with it. Focus and will it into shapes and into your command. The sand must become like a third arm. It must move as easily as the other two. As natural as if you've had it all your life. Start small and focus on making the sand move.

As I feel the right amount of chakra is sent into the sand, saturating it, I use my will power to manipulate the sand. Nothing happens in the first attempt. I try it several times, but with no success. Going into deep meditation once more, I place a clear image of sand in my mind, as I imagine that my right hand is entirely made up of sand, as I try moving it in my imagination. Keeping the same picture in mind, I focus on my chakra once more, as I successfully manipulate it to move the sand in different directions.

Maintaining my focus, I keep on manipulating the sand. This time, I spatially recompose the surrounding sand to form a sort of an orb, and then a small triangle, after which I keep it moving up and down. Slowly, I get a hold of it, and make circles, and small squares.

Alright. I meditate once more, but this time, instead of making random shapes, I focus on the amount of chakra I put, and likewise the density of sand, I manipulate, as I spatially recompose the surrounding sand to form a hollow sphere, which is about the size of a basketball.
Gaara folds his arms across his chest and stares at his pupil with a distant look in his eye. Suddenly the sand 15m away forms into 3 humanoid shaped targets.
After a moment and being sure to catch his pupils attention Gaara speaks at last. While gesturing to the targets.
What do you think will happen if your sphere were to smash into the one of those targets?

Gaara watches keenly, as three humanoid figures, entirely made up of sand are formed before his very eyes. Staring at them, he listens, as his shishou questions him, on what would happen if a sand sphere were to clash with the targets.
"Depends on the size of the sphere and it's rank. If it's a high ranked sphere, then the sphere would grind through the humanoid target, else it would hit the target and just fall off after the impact"

Assuming your sand sphere and the target are the same rank, the sphere still crumbles with minimal damage. The fact is, the sphere is hollow the targets are solid. Were gonna move onto some jutsus now....if you live.
As those words leave Gaara's mouth, the sand below his pupil erupts and launches him 30m into the sky.
The last part is a test, lets see your creativity and which sand technique you choose to save yourself.

Gaara smiles watching his pupil perform a B rank jutsu to save himself. Before his student realizes whats happening he steers into a giant sand hand Gaara created from the sand pillar he used to launch the look-a-like into the sky. The sand hand drags the boy down and leaves him next to Gaara.
Now the rp aside. We have covered all the basics of sand release minus the sand cloud but that really doesn't need explaining. You have now mastered......just playing we have a ways to go
Now this will be the template we shall use for training.
Its not too hard. If you can't find a picture don't worry about it ill always look for one as well. For the speed. Rate it 1-3 with 1 being the fastest give a small explanation for why.
You don't always need 3 advantages/ disadvantages just give me as many as you can.
Note: as we progress and I see you have a solid understanding of Sand Release the template will change and somethings will fall off it.
