Sand Body Flicker?

I was looking up the Body Flicker technique.

The Body Flicker Technique is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed...

What caught my interest was below that it stated different types, such as: Gaara, for instance, uses the Sand Body Flicker (砂瞬身, Suna-Shunshin), which uses sand to cover his movements.

When has it ever showed Gaara using such techniques? In the movie when he fought Naruto, he made the lower half of his body sand and shot up into the air.

Now my question is, if it was, why doesn't it look like the other flicker techs? It doesn't look like a flicker at all, just him using sand to move upwards.

Do you think he made his body sand, or just covered it up?

Last, why the **** does he never use it?! It looked awesome, why float on sand when you can do something like a Pokemon Aqua Jet.

No. I think Gaara doesn't have body flicker tech. The sand moves at great speed but its not body flicker tech. :shrug:

hmm there is that technique that he uses just before that fight. Its the one that he turns into sand and than reforms somewhere else. He used it to appear just infront of naruto before he fought naruto and performed the technique that you showed. Thats my guess cos i can't remember him doing it any other time.

The guys at Narutowiki probably just got it wrong. That looks nothing like Shunsin, it looks like what you said; covering his body with sand and using it to lift himself.

That move is probably only used in the movies 'coz it looks really awesome and stuff. The movies always make the characters look badass and do moves that seem almost impossible when compared to canon. Like Naruto's Rasenshuriken parting the clouds or his high speed movement, they're over exaggerated but look cool

Gaara can perform shunshin, I'm too lazy to show where he does it but I remember him dissipating into sand and reforming somewhere else.

Hanzo also uses Body Flicker
Sai also uses Body Flicker
Guy and Lee also
Kakashi as well
Sasuke too
Countless more use the body flicker as well.

I believe that he uses it right after defeating Lee in the Chunin Exams.
