First... a little music to set the tone:

We all know Sasuke is still on the path of destruction. That much has been shown and confirmed in this chapter.

Indeed - Sakura is happy to see her team re-united, and does trust Sasuke... But she remembers:

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

But... She's not standing on the sidelines, anymore:

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

And... she knows what will happen if Sasuke continues down the path of destruction:

You must be registered for see images

This has already happened once, with Sasuke's refusal to obtain power the same way as Itachi being the only reason Naruto survived.

And we've been here, before:

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

Every now and again - a Cherry tree blossoms.

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

Its blossoms grace our presence.

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

And then it fades.

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

The wind that changes Sasuke will be the same wind that blows the Sakura from the trees.

Shikamaru noticed it - the look Sakura got in her eye before doing something 'rash.'

In her final moment - Sakura will bear the burden meant for Naruto and Sasuke, so that their fate may be changed.

Edit: Quick edit to title.

idk, on one hand i believe you are 100% correct.
-
but Sakura already was a antagonist and tried to destory naruto's dream, i don't want her to do that again.
-
Sakura already stated that she has to trust them.
-
^sigh.
-
idk anything can happen with sakura she is the one that is unpredictable.
-
though i have a prediction that Sasuke kills Sakura and Naruto gets a power-up becuase of it. so maybe that will happen

Why does everyone want sakura to die so badly? I dont' think naruto, sasuke or sakura will be tragic characters.
I don't want her to die.

I'm simply reading the situation. Unless Sakura can release one hell of a talk-no-jutsu while keeping the two from killing each other - it is her sacrifice that will, like the previous Sanin (as well as Team Minato), change the other two. It's not tragic so much as heroic.

This is clever my friend :). Beautiful
I actually wanted to try and do her character justice with this. I think a lot of us on the Base are a bit unfair towards her.

I don't think this would be destroying his dream. It would be what makes it happen. Sasuke is so close... but so far away to really being a part of the team. If he continues this way - he and Naruto will die. The dream of having peace between Ninja - Naruto's role as the second Sage.... goes away.

Sakura already stated that she has to trust them.

That is why she knows that her sacrifice will be worth it. She trusts Naruto. She trusts Sasuke. Sasuke need only be shown the end result of his path.

Neither Naruto or Sasuke need a power-up like that. "You killed someone I cared for so now I'm going to go super-duper mode" is over-used. Plus, that implies vengeance - a path Naruto has rejected twice, now. First with Nagato (symbolized by his eventual overcoming of the Kyuubi's raw rage and aggression), second with Obito.

Sounds good to me but I don't think it will happen. By the way the forest of death part was probably my favorite sakura moment. Or at least my most memorable.

I can see that happening, you have some very good points. But I dunno, Kishi has a soft spot for Sakura, and I really think that Naruto and Sasuke are the ones who will break this curse that pits the senju and uchiha against each others, and this tradition of teammates/freinds fighting and trying to kill each other that Konoha has going on: Madara vs Hashirama, Jiraiya vs Orochimaru, Minato vs someone maybe?, Kakashi vs Obito, and Naruto vs Sasuke. I'd seriously like to have the two main characters end it, live happy lives, and move on. Also, I believe Sakura is Sasuke's match. I don't think, and don't want, any of the main characters to die. I want them to break the cycle, and let the manga end happily. Still, though, her name is Sakura, and the cherry blossom, as you've implied here, represents how beautiful, and short, life can be. And Kishi, though having a soft spot for her, was the one who named her that. He might have planned, before he even drew the first panel on the first page for the first chapter of Naruto, that Sakura would be a tragic character.
That being said, I don't want her to die, and I don't want her death to pit Naruto and Sasuke against each other, as Rin's did to kakashi and obito.

Sakura is right now on an emotional cliff,She must decide what to do, She can no longer stay neutral or pass it on to somebody else or She will never grow. Good or bad decision its now in Sakura's own hands.

Her death won't pit Naruto and Sasuke against each other.

Unlike Kakashi and Obito - Naruto and Sasuke have already lost important people to them that has led them to choose two separate solutions to the same problem. Sasuke is still bent on destroying anything that opposes him.

Sakura sacrificing herself to prevent the fight that is looming would illustrate to Sasuke that his path to attain peace will be devoid of the things he wished to bring into that world of peace. She will, according to this theory, die by his hand.

Just as Kakashi and Obito were changed by the death of Rin.

The question is whether or not they will come to blows over it in the middle of fighting the Juubi - or if it will be a factor in the next arc or two.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that the foreshadowing that she was getting ready to step in between the two was coming. I doubt she's sitting on the sidelines this time. If Kakashi dies there's no one to get in the way when she steps in like that time on the roof. We might finally get to see Naruto pushed to his breaking point if she dies. Pain injuring Hinata will look small if Sasuke kills Sakura during their fight. It only makes sense, given the screen time they all have and the connections back to team Minato.

That's not how it will work.

Naruto will understand Sakura's decision to sacrifice herself, and Sasuke is the one who will come to understand why Naruto is choosing a different path.

For Naruto to "go berzerk" over the loss of Sakura would completely defeat the purpose of the sacrifice. Which is exactly what we've already seen with Naruto and Nagato... As well as with Naruto and Obito.

Also, I wouldn't be so sure that the loss of Sakura would be any more/less detrimental than the loss of any of Naruto's friends. That's a subjective argument that is hard to support or refute - but Naruto cares pretty deeply about all of his friends.

Totally called Sasuke's decision and motivation.

Anyone think I'll be right on the second count?
