Hi guys and girls,

Sakura was able to defeat Sasori because Lady Chiyo had a solid knowledge of Sasori's abilities and his puppetry arts.

Sakura had the antidote due to previously Kankuro being poisoned by Sasori blades. She actually had three antidotes prepared, she took one (Or she would die) and gave one to Lady Chiyo. Basically Sakura had time to prepare and develop a counter for Sasori's poison.

This is where the fuckery starts. Sakura had an antidote in her pocket, ready to be used, that was brought along in "hypodermic" form.

I just love how this skilled is praised when in fact she is only able to prepare an antidote with anticipation and previously knowledge of the type of poison she will be facing.

Sakura fans talk like she was able to create a poison during battle or create an antidote on the go. She is not. So this isn't exactly a feat that should be taken into account for war or battle.

I mean she did create an antidote that no one had been able to make before, even the most skilled medics in the sand with plenty of time to research it. Sakura did make the antidote in the heat of saving someone’s life, where if she failed it meant that kankuro would die. So no, it wasn’t in the heat of battle, but it was under a lot of pressure and it was still something that someone as accomplished as Chiyo was unable to achieve

I am in no way diminishing her feat but saying that her skill of being able to create and do antidotes should be taken with a grain of salt. How is this exactly useful in the heat of battle? It isn't, unless she has poisoned Kunais with her but in terms of antidotes it is void.

Pappasaur clarified your issue, I think.
Read my answer to him.

Creating an antidote that a veteran like Chiyo couldn't whilst being chunin level is amazing what are you on
That is no my point. In battle it is useless to have that skill because it requires prep.

you're 10 years late
Welcome back and please, behave this time. Also, re-read my post so you can understand what i am saying. By that logic it wouldn't be worth to discuss any aspect of Naruto manga.

Bingo and please keep in mind of the other facts..

She needed a sample of the poison in order to create the antidote. Ofc Sakura can create antidotes but it is nowhere stated it is out of thin air.

Chiyo says "At this point" and not "She never needed". Sakura started to read Sasori's pattern, without Chiyo to help, she wouldn't be able to hold on. It is a big leap of faith to think otherwise.

The praise doesn't seem to be linked to how strong she is generally speaking (although it kind of is in my eyes). Rather it makes her that much formidable, that she can pioneer an antidote in the heat of battle without fail where high ranking medical ninja and a legendary one could have failed. I don't get what you mean it should be taken with a grain of salt. The grandness of the feat is incomparable, it doesn't mean she's now uber strong because of it, but isn't the cherry part of it that Sakura is a genius in her own right and could just as well create a shit ton of poisons each with their antidotes should one be necessary? This is theoretically speaking, but waning down the achievement based off its non-versatile nature is kind of an arbitrary diminishing tactic, if you consider what she is capable of & where it puts her in the Medical field.

Another theory: she may be able to create a poison that's specifically for the enemy she's facing, with say his blood, and then make an antidote for herself to not be affected by it should it secrete and fester in the ambient environment.

There is no doubt that Sakura is smart.

She might in fact be a "pioneer" but the sample is always needed in my opinion. It seems that it was exactly because of Kankuro being poisoned that she was able to actually develop a "cure". Not really useful against Poison release or any other poison she could eventually face.

A sample. Exactly.

So your point is that because it doesn't share the same function as the Rasengan (usable on the fly) it takes away from its usefulness in the heat of battle?

Well I’m glad you know how antidotes work! And the only way to counter a toxin in the air is if it’s in gas form but your the rocket scientist so you knew that already!

Chiyo says "At this point"
Bingo :hooray:

Chiyo’s owns words prove that Sakura’s part in Sasori’s defeat was not an asspull! She said word for word that she could handle things on her own at a certain point in the fight, that means that nothing in the plot was magically invented to place Sakura is a winning circumstance. Her build up to that point in the fight was realistic no matter the position she started. Sakura absolutely carried that fight when it climaxed and defiantly when it ended, Chiyo was a legendary medic & Ninja and she needed a chunin (Sakura) to beat Sasori.

Edit: please don’t tell me you think she was useless and nothing but a human prop that Chiyo could’ve won without!!!

You basically created a hole in the plot with your logic. So how did Sakura created the antidote? Or you weren't being sarcastic? Help me here Melanin.

Haha. Chiyo basically gave all the hints to Sakura during the start of the battle. We can't ignore this. For some reason, Chiyo, the legendary medic & Ninja needed the superhuman strength of Sakura. This is a beautiful rub by Kishimoto.

I am starting to think Chiyo was basically Sakura's guide until the girl started reading the patterns.

There’s a few things left out when people mention that fight.

First and foremost, sasori let his own damn self be killed.

Secondly, and this is two fold; sakura did amazing, but chiyo was also a big help. Controlling sakura did 2 things. A.) allow sakura to actually not die and be able to evade during the first parts of the fight. And b.) being controlled left sakura able to focus on observing sasori and how he fights etc. so while it is a great feat, I find her sasori fight praise a bit over blown, bad ass fight though.

Lastly, the poison praise is legit, can’t reallt say much about that one

Good post man!

Badass fight, no doubt. Downplaying Chiyo importance is just.. idk.. unreal imo. I can't understand why people try to make Chiyo look irrelevant.

While she was in fact a "pioneer" and developing an antidote at such a young age is praise worthy, without a sample there would be no "cure". Kankuro being poisoned was very important for this.

Your not keeping up but it’s expected, Sakura created an antidote becuase sasori was cocky enough to leave Kankuro behind along with a sample of his poison. Just read between the lines, Melanin can’t do all the work fam but it’s all love!

Haha. Chiyo basically gave all the hints to Sakura during the start of the battle.
True! While Sakura basically took the lead to the point of no longer needed direction based on her own mental/physical tenacity. Chiyo gave Sakura a bike with training wheels for her first ride and Sakura took them off after a couple pedals down the street .

But you just said sakuras involvement was an asspull, how do you guide or make sense of an asspull? You just solo’d your thread.

Stop with that "Solo'd your thread". Behave maturely, please, otherwise this conversation ends on my behalf since you can't participate in a Sakura thread without this bs.

Thank you for your scan.

Probably Lady Chiyo needed a sample of the poision to test it out. Nothing proves the contrary.

I never said that. I asked if it was. The Sakura rub is real, how can Sakura fans ignore that Chiyo took control of Sakura, Chiyo was highly important for this. Sasori let himself be killed. (Infinite Mugen's describes it well)

Sakura antidote feat is not battle worthy without prep. It shouldn't even be mentioned. :)

Only prejudiced people think Chiyo wasn't of great help.

Did he let Sakura repel the iron sand? No
Did he let Sakura read through his movements? No
Did he let her shadow his human puppets? Hell no!

No Sasori gave up, that’s more accurate but who’s to say that he would’ve won if he didn’t? You don’t get to discount a W just because the other person tapped out. That would be like me saying Naruto didn’t defeat Nagato because he gave up at the end. We could even use the same argument to discredit Sasukes defeat(s) of Dano or Deidara in to an extent.

Secondly, and this is two fold; sakura did amazing, but chiyo was also a big help. Controlling sakura did 2 things. I’m can agree to disagree with certain parts of this but it’s well put.

Bye! You did solo your argument or undermined it, the most mature person in the world could see that 60ft away. There is no BS besides you calling sakuras dosplay of skill and medical ninjutsu as an asspull, you behave.

Probably Lady Chiyo needed a sample of the poision to test it out.
Nothing proves the contrary.
A sample? What I are you taking about?

The sample was right in front of her XD

She dead ass said that the poison was beyond her capabilities! She dead ass said “this is beyond me” lol

Nothing disproved the “Contrary” or what I like to call facts.

And sakuras antidote is battle worthy.

She used it to destroy Sasori’s strongest puppet.
