Truth is, Sakura really took a beating in this chapter, like she has been for a while now. I mean her headband getting incinerated can be taken as a sign she will die soon, but I think that the headband burning might mean just the opposite. By pushing a person way down, you create potential for them to rise up. Perhaps it marks the death of her past self and we will see her true self come out, or perhaps its simply there to direct us away from her later use.

Now why do I think Sakura might serve a greater role? The reason is, to be quite honest, having Naruto/Sasuke defeat Kaguya would be...... downright boring. Every major manga seems to have some massive twist or yet undiscovered truth that makes defeating the final enemy possible. Even when the final enemy achieves total power, there seems to be a way to revert or diminish that power. Now this diminishing of power might include powerups of the good guys, but it shouldn't directly rely on it, rather it should only make achieving the final goal easier.

So my prediction, or rather my hope, is that Kaguya's defeat won't rely on brute force by Naruto and Sasuke. Rather, it will rely on a yet undiscovered truth that will make her defeat-able, something that Sakura will perhaps play a vital role in. Thoughts?

No way. The Hokages are certainly not done for, but Sakura?
Kishi is too much of a troll to give her any spotlight at this point. The latest example being that teamwork bullshit a few chapters ago and Sakura being put aside as soon as she tried something. Like this wasn't enough, she later had to be saved by Kakashi who's supposed to be below her level right now and done for, but no, even if its about team 7, the girl needs to set aside to be safe.
Right now everything has been about NaruSasu and NaruSasu only. She's always been a forced and weird part within her team and will always be.
At this point she would need to become a 'flashy' fighter to just stay around the likes of these demi-gods and survive. A female charater becoming 'flashy' in Naruto at this point? I don't think so.
I think her character is already lucky to have been able to surpass Tsunade (or maybe in the future she will, as its not quite clear by now who's superior). If she had anything else that Tsunade doesn't have she would've used it by now.

The only reason her headband fell was to show that the lava was real. (I think)
But as Sawyer7 pointed out, how does seeing the lava destroy the headband prove its not a genjutsu? It burning could still be part of it lol.

She might have a meaning in all of this. And about the headband thingy, it can also signify the end of the war... It was the sign of the alliance, so that could mean that the alliance isn't needed anymore because the war will be over.
Also another way to look at it, good one.

Team Kakashi are the Main Character on this Naruto manga.
Oh! To think that Kishi is pushing Sakura deep down.
There will be 1 of the main character will get kick down very badly, as in any novel & fiction.
But, in the ending, this character will shine brightly.

Possibly, both Kakashi & Sakura could die, in the same way.
Then Sage brother may give them some weird power.

As Sage mentioned that both him & brother had to fight Juubi.
Juubi could be the Key to contain their mother, Kaguya.
(Note: Madara used Juubi because of the massive "chakra".
Kaguya did not need Juubi because she had eaten the 'fruit'.)
His brother also had some of the Juubi chakra.

Anything could be possible, in Kishi story.........................
