Then the question still is: is she really over him or is she just lying to herself? She can try to convince herself that she's over Sasuke, but who knows if that's true? It wouldn't be the first time that humans lied to themselves.
And personally if Kishimoto-sensei lets Naruto end up with Sakura, I would be very disappointed. He deserves someone who goes for him with her whole being (or his LOL) not getting picked as second choice because the first one left and she only realized he was always there for her after a few years -_-
I think, if I were in Sakura's situation, if someone I liked tried to kill me, I'd be over them in a heartbeat. I mean, who says he wouldn't do it again? That'd always be at the back of my mind.
And I think if he got with Hinata, that'd be bad because he and she don't do anything together. They barely see each other and when they do she gets flustered and quiet. There is no liesure time they spend together. They don't really know each other. There is no private jokes or build up in this pairing. At least, not on Naruto's end. He needs a woman who can be there for him. He needs someone who can handle his wild impulses. He needs someone who knows him inside and out. That is indeed Sakura.
If I was to show someone I'm the better man than who they liked, that'd be a major accomplishment in my eyes.
