Sakura is SO selfish!

While some have made good points (about Sakura doing it to relieve Naruto from the promise he made her), I still don't like her. When she said all those things to Naruto and then hugged him, I got the feeling that she was jumping from one boy to the other. I mean she was 'in love' with Sasuke for years because he was cool, handsome, smart etc and Naruto was an annoying brat to her. Then when she sees that Sasuke isn't the perfect boy she imagined him to be, she drops him like a stone and then approaches Naruto (I can't remember if she said she loves him - my memory is a bit blurry about that part, because it has been a while since I last read those particular chapters).
A girl who gives up on a boy as soon as he shows he isn't the perfect person she imagined him to be, is a bit pathetic in my opinion. Naruto, who has had a Chidori shoved through his lung by his best friend and who has been training his ass off to catch up to Sasuke, still believes in his best friend when he didn't even like him in the beginning and a girl who claims to love him, gives up on. -_-
She may have tried to relieve Naruto from his burden but by doing it like that and by trying to kill Sasuke without telling Naruto about it, she didn't really succeed in her attempt. Plus I found it low of her that she didn't tell Naruto she was going after Sasuke. He had the right to know after all.
So yeah, I don't like Sakura at all. While she isn't a weak girl, her character isn't really likeable in my opinion.

Honestly, when I first started reading this manga, I thought that Naruto and Sakura were destined for each other. Now I think Kishi is going to kill her off. He'll make it a big dramatic thing, but she's gonna die in my opinion. Why? Just look at how he's spent literally no time at all focusing on her, not even a little. I think he realizes that he messed up with that character, because she was originally meant for Naruto for sure, but now there's no way he can bring them together without realizing that it's something that would never happen, considering that she's betrayed Naruto so many times it's really absurd. It's become part of her character that she will not choose Naruto, and even if they do end up, it won't really work as a good finish, because I at least will feel like she's just doing it to make Naruto happy. I know it's all fictional, but that means it's up to the reader, and my personal belief is her characteristic of leaving Naruto has been too deeply ingrained for her to actually end with him. As a result, she's probably going to die, since there's no way she ends up with Sasuke, and no other possibility really arises that I can think of, and Naruto will probably end up with Hinata.


(Actually, there is one think I just thought of. MAYBE both Naruto and Sasuke die in their fight. Sakura once again realizes that she was helpless, and truly weak, but this is on a much larger scale, and the change it brings to her actually does work, and she carries on the will of fire in the memory of those two, and successfully leads the peace-bringing).

Yes and Hinata was an idiot when she did that (against direct orders, I might add). By luck and Plot no Jutsu, she managed to enrage Naruto to the point that he lost control of the Fox and got freed. The likeliest outcome would have been for her to die for nothing. By luck and Plot no Jutsu, the 6-tailed Naruto did not destroy and kill what was left over of the village. No military planner would go for a plan that has a 1% chance of success. The right approach would have been for her to inform other Ninjas of what was happening and organize a rescue attempt, not jump in front like a child.

I am not denying her courage, but I can't recall a single time in the story where Hinata actually took time to think out a strategy. She just lashes out - far worse than even part-1 Naruto... As a ninja she would be a complete fail if not for her Byakugan. As a person, she is completely one-dimensional, very sweet but nothing beyond an obsessive love for Naruto (well, I blame Kishimoto for that ).

I don't know if Naruto will end up with her, with Sakura or someone else (though my preference is for Sakura), but I hope it won't be Hinata. He needs someone that can balance his passion and impulsivity and can help with the intellectual/planning areas that he will have to develop if he were to succeed as Hokage. He does not need a groupy. I just can't see Hinata in that role.

yes she had 1% chance of doing anything and did it anyway knowing she'd only be making things worse. sakura took the sword knowing it might buy time for chiyo to get out of the way and defeat sasori. theres a difference between bravery and stupidity.

Why do yaw think the others were so shocked by that whole thing, especially Kiba and Rock Lee, Kiba even pointed out that she was underestimating Naruto and Rock Lee believed what she did was plain wrong.

lee never said that. and kiba believed she was underestimating him because he expected naruto to find out the truth somehow and believed they should tell him the truth since hed find out eventually. but sakura cant do it because then naruto would charge after them and put himself at risk of getting captured.

Everyone else believed in Naruto enough to tell him the truth and they all had no doubt he could handle it but the one person who he has supported and helped all this time, the one person closest to him is the one that doesn't believe in him?

how can you say sakura doesnt believe in him? gaara believed in him more than anyone and he was the one who most adamantly demanded they hide him and keep him in the dark about the 4th world war. sakura and gaara care more about naruto's safety than using his powers. they dont want him getting captured by akatsuki, just because of his sasuke obsession. if tobi hadnt come along and explained why sasuke was doing all this and the curse of hate, naruto would more than be ready to accept the reality. thats what sakura was trying to do.

What was the point of even going to Naruto in the first place if her plan was to kill Sasuke?

she explained it several times. read the manga. she went to naruto to accomplish three things.
1. protect him by getting him to go back to konoha and get him away from sasuke and akatsuki.
2. relieve him of the pain of the promise by saying she holds no obligations for sasuke anymore.
3. confess her love for him which had been developing since the chunin exams.

She could have kept going and then told Naruto what she did later.

nope. she couldnt let naruto know she was going to kill him. thatd cause him pain and thats the exact opposite of what sakura wants

maybe you sense good in them and want to save them. maybe you love and admire them for different reasons than just wanting to be with them. kimimaro loved orochimaru. haku loved zabuza. hiruzen loved orochimaru. the list goes on. the person you love need not love you back

while some have made good points (about sakura doing it to relieve naruto from the promise he made her), i still don't like her. When she said all those things to naruto and then hugged him, i got the feeling that she was jumping from one boy to the other. I mean she was 'in love' with sasuke for years because he was cool, handsome, smart etc and naruto was an annoying brat to her. Then when she sees that sasuke isn't the perfect boy she imagined him to be, she drops him like a stone and then approaches naruto (i can't remember if she said she loves him - my memory is a bit blurry about that part, because it has been a while since i last read those particular chapters).
A girl who gives up on a boy as soon as he shows he isn't the perfect person she imagined him to be, is a bit pathetic in my opinion. Naruto, who has had a chidori shoved through his lung by his best friend and who has been training his ass off to catch up to sasuke, still believes in his best friend when he didn't even like him in the beginning and a girl who claims to love him, gives up on. -_-
she may have tried to relieve naruto from his burden but by doing it like that and by trying to kill sasuke without telling naruto about it, she didn't really succeed in her attempt. Plus i found it low of her that she didn't tell naruto she was going after sasuke. He had the right to know after all.
So yeah, i don't like sakura at all. While she isn't a weak girl, her character isn't really likeable in my opinion.
But that's just what i think of it *shrugs*

she hadn't even gave up on him until he tried to kill her. Yes, she still loves him after everything he has done to her, naruto, himself, and the world, but does she still want to pursue a relationship with a boy who is "insane"? No. Sakura would get backlash if she did still want to be sasuke's girlfriend or whatever and would still probably get backlash if she didn't because it would mean that she was hoping from boy to boy. While sakura has some feelings for naruto, i wouldn't go on a limb and say they would start any kind of relationship or that she even loves him. Maybe as a brother, but as something more, i doubt it. Naruto, is just setting himself up for more hurt in believing that him and sasuke can be friends or have any kind of friendly relationship with each other, while sakura knows that nothing can happen now. She knows that sasuke is really lost and has given up on him, but not her love for him. Hell, even kakashi gave up on sasuke a long time ago, but does he receive any criticism for it? Yes, naruto did have the right to know, but at the same time he didn't. Sakura wasn't doing this only for her or him she was doing it for the benefit of the world. If she told naruto, who is very stubborn, then he would tell her not to. I think that if she had the guts to kill sasuke and followed up with it, a lot of the things would have possibly resolved. The war may have still gone on, but she would have removed someone from the world who could have caused future conflict.

yes and hinata was an idiot when she did that (against direct orders, i might add). By luck and plot no jutsu, she managed to enrage naruto to the point that he lost control of the fox and got freed. The likeliest outcome would have been for her to die for nothing. By luck and plot no jutsu, the 6-tailed naruto did not destroy and kill what was left over of the village. No military planner would go for a plan that has a 1% chance of success. The right approach would have been for her to inform other ninjas of what was happening and organize a rescue attempt, not jump in front like a child.

I am not denying her courage, but i can't recall a single time in the story where hinata actually took time to think out a strategy. She just lashes out - far worse than even part-1 naruto... As a ninja she would be a complete fail if not for her byakugan. As a person, she is completely one-dimensional, very sweet but nothing beyond an obsessive love for naruto (well, i blame kishimoto for that ).

I don't know if naruto will end up with her, with sakura or someone else (though my preference is for sakura), but i hope it won't be hinata. He needs someone that can balance his passion and impulsivity and can help with the intellectual/planning areas that he will have to develop if he were to succeed as hokage. He does not need a groupy. I just can't see hinata in that role.

obviously it was love since i doubt someone would risk their very life for someone who was just cool looking (gaara fight). sasuke was everything to her. she looked up to him as a symbol of strength.

no. she was trying to kill him because she wont let kakashi and naruto bear the burden. she was willing to kill him so that they wouldnt have to stain their hands. and also because she isnt stupid and knows sasuke will just keep killing if he is allowed to live. but ultimately she cant kill her emotions and bring herself to do it. much like hiruzen and orochimaru. no matter how much sasuke falls, kakashi and sakura will love him.

sakura didnt know naruto was hated because of kyuubi until part 2. and no hinata still does not understand naruto. she treats him like a god who can do no wrong, when naruto actually has flaws of his own, like chasing sasuke at cost to himself. sakura knows and gets naruto better than anyone on the face of the earth. hinata never tried talking to naruto and helping him. she just stood by and watched, just like everyone stood by and watched gaara become a psychopath. admiration is the emotion furthest away from actual understanding.
