sakura keeps him busy with substitution. ino does mind transfer and sakura murders kisame with poisoned kunai. inos mastered her mind jutsu, so much so that she got kinkaku with it.

Ino is pretty usless unless she's in the ino_shika_cho thing so I don't really know how she would help so that just leaves sakura with her strength and medical jutsu i don't see how they could stand a chance

Yeah its helpful with ino shika cho they've already said the technique is slow moving so without shikamarus shadow possession its wouldn't be very helpful
