Anybody who bashes Hinata(who is so called 'dependant' on Naruto) for jumping out in the battle to save Naruto without any power should think that if a side character like her can go this far then the so called 'independent' Sakura who supposed to be stronger than Hinata couldn't atleast handle one of the pains when Konoha's destruction was in process.

Actually Tsunade wasn't just sitting there. She was healing all the villagers with her seal.

Sakura had a duty to do, to heal the shinobi of konoha. She isn't the type of ninja to fight an opponent heads on either. Especially not one that just destroyed the village. It's obvious that she would have been outclassed even if her seal was ready. Pein's power is overwhelming for shinobi made for combat.

Meanwhile Sakura is a medical specialist. She wouldn't have put up too much of a challenge to Pein. It's like asking why Deidara didn't start using genjutsu on Naruto, when he was chasing Deidara. It's not how he fights, he has not the greatest skill in that category and it would have been a waste (of chakra). In this situation though, Sakura would have wasted her life.
