Sakura being a medic is NO excuse for uselessness in this war

Whilst I agree that she has been particularly lackluster in the war (she didn't even get a cloak) her being a medic is a legitimate excuse. Tsunade stated in her battle with madara that she has set rules for her medics - one being that they can never engage in direct combat. She hasn't done much fighting because she isn't allowed to. As tsunades student she knows the rules and is sticking by them.

Unfortunately this means she is doomed to a life of background healing and one panel emotional reactions glimpses. Sad really considering she is supposed to be a main character.

But that's no excuse man, it's a fictional story with ninjas reviving the dead, pulling comets out of the sky, and summoning gigiantic 1000arm statues out of the ground. Like I said before, Naruto was never suppose to join the war but he did it anyway. If Sakura truly had any battle potential she would've done the same, I guess that means she is truly useless now.

Naruto is the main character. Sakura is a de facto supporting character in Shippuden.
She was a main character back in part 1. So why make such a big deal for a supporting character (de jure main character)?

Yes but if she wasn't so useless she would be on Tsunades level, Tsunade is the weakest Sannin and Naruto and Sasuke have far surpassed their teachers, and she hasnt which only proves that she is a useless moaning ****, that likes to hit Naruto for no reason and be a general ******* towards him but when push comes to shove can do nothing but call for his assistance even though she doesnt deserve it at the least.

Naruto wasn't suppose to show up at the battelfield but he did it anyways, and look at what good came from that..he pretty much saved the Shinobi world. She could've easily disobeyed orders, I think if she did that and showed some cool new stuff that would've been great development for her character.

Shizune and Kabuto are in the same league? I am sorry, What? Kabuto according to Tsunade herself, surpassed her in his Medic techniques when she was in her prime. His skills with experimentation and DNA manipulation are unsurpassed. Shizune is a freaking dolt in comparison and not even a good fighter, which Kabuto is. This base bashes Kabuto for no good reason when he was at Kakashi's level in combat at nineteen. Add DSM mode and this guy is top five easily.

Anyhow, I could never understand Sakura, Hinata, Ino, Tenten; throw in a few more of these useless girls. What do they add to the show? Romance? I think the show can go on even without it.

Um I could definitely argue this. So there won't be any closure with Team 7 and Sasuke ever? That's just not an issue anymore? Every opening and ending preaches this theme all the time and rams it down our throats. Don't be mistaken, they're in a war and there's a lot of fighting but Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura (apparently less Sakura now) are still definitely the focus.

Mainly because the ones that defend her tend to use the 'she is a main character. she will shine you'll see!' argument.
If they are gonna use that title, then they have to deal with people criticizing her for being such an outshined and poor main character.

Now let first say that this isn't a Sakura bash thread nor am I a Sakura hater. I like her, but she's been very usless during the war. I hear people always say "she's a medic so she's been on the sidelines." But she still a main character after Naruto and Sasuke so she should be an exception. If someone just started watching Naruto they'd probably believe that Hinata is the main heroine (she's isn't and she doesn't fit as one). Hinata has done much more than Sakura as moral support for the main character. Hinata was the one who was giving her life to save Naruto for the Juubi wood spears, Hinata was the one to slap Naruto back into reality when it looked like he was going to lose his way, she was the one who popped Naruto's shoulder back into place during the assault on Madara and Obito. Sakura didn't even get Kyuubi chakra for christ sake.

Naruto wasn't even suppose to be in the war in the first place, but look who showed up and started to kick ass...Sakura being a medic is no excuse, so Sakura fans need to stop using that. If Kishi wanted to he could've just given her a nice power-up that would allow to join the battle but it's a little too late for that cause no power-up should give her the ability to hold her own against Madara and Obito. But yeah Kishi could've just made Sakura take initiative by joining the battle like Naruto did but nah she's just standing there..and that in my opnion makes her a useless fodder (in this particular arc)

Oh btw I don't count killing a Zetsu clone and having wet dreams about Sasuke as being useful

How does that work out? The most important part of being a ninja is battle strength, Medical ninjas have are just lackies that stay behind to help fodders. The fodders int his war contribute nothing to defeating Madara or the Ten tails, they are just there to get "fodderized". So Medical ninjas are pretty much just useless people that help other useless people and dont contribute to defeating anything.

She's still a main character, she can easily be given an epic power up by the pen of Kishimoto. World of Warcraft has nothing to do with Naruto. One is a online and the other is a manga series, you're just comparing apples with oranges.

I agree with sakura and maybe ten ten( even though she owns a god's fan ) but hinata and ino have not been useless this arc at all. Hinata has had great character development and dont get me started with ino. Her dad died, helped defeated asuma, zetsus, kinkaku or ginkaku, and most importantly..........TOOK CONTROL OF A GOD. If anything, ino technically turned into a god level shinobi for 2 seconds lol.

Yet he has developed, Hinata, Ten Ten (Tsunade Idolization), Temari, Gaara's Fan Girl (Cant remember her name), Tsunade, Konan, Shizune and Part 1 sakura and even omoi's partner. This is no excuse, and it is not character bashing. If someone said iruka was useless for example, then no one would even utter the phrase "character bashing" on the entire thread, if you just assume posts about sakura's ability are intended for bashing then we should just ban sakura threads.

As far as Shining in the war, most of the doubt is because is it so late in the war and there is only a handful of possibilities for what she might do. Since she has disappeared from the manga in recent chapters it might be that her and sai are going to aid the hokages, but it will just be another "healing" feat. I personally would like hashirama to do any saving that is involved with tsunade.

That is the whole problem. Ino and Hinata have shown slight character development only now. Which great character development (for Hinata) is that, exactly? Provided Ino proved a bit useless, that still doesn't absolve her of her one-dimensional tang-glass personality.

Changes occur in life,why not Manga? We have seen 3rd Hokage's death,Itachi, Asuma,Jiraiya now Neji. Sakura has only faded into the woodwork. To the fans of the for mention characters it was a hard blow to swallow,so if you're a Sakura fan be happy I am sure fans of Neji,Jiraiya and Itachi they would gladly have their favorites be in the Back arrow n than dead.

But Tsunade saved everyone from Almighty Push by using Katsuya, without being involve in battle either.
I think it was useless in the end though because Nagato did end up reviving all people who died, so technically all the medical ninjutsu efforts are not needed. xd
