SO6P was said to go around, teaching the ways of ninjutsu. When he came across the 10tails, he couldnt defeat it, so he sealed it in himself. Before he died, he knew that the 10tails would manifest itself into the world, he didnt want that. So he divided the 10tails into several "smaller?" weaker forms. He never intended for them to be treated the way they were. Thats why Son Goku obviously shows a high level of respect for him.

To you two I explained why I made this thread and stated the purpose. The purpose of dividing the Tailed Beast and Naming them shows he wanted them to be viewed as more than a source of power. That's why he named them and gave them an identity.

People also questioned The sage because 1) He wanted to control the juubi 2) From Tobi's story he split the beasts and scattered them. Why would he scatter evil beast across the world instead of sealing them. That is why people questioned his intentions and in this thread I explained his true intentions.
