Sage of Six Paths WAS a good person.

Sage of Six Paths' true intentions.

So When Tobi told us the story about the Sage of six paths, thinking about the story made it seem like the sage wasn't a good person. Why would the sage split up the juubi which is said to have evil and malevolent chakra intro 9 different beasts and scatter them across the world, especially with the power that they carry.

After reading 568, I realized that the Sage wasn't a complete douche in the Naruto verse. He was actually a good person, and as always Tobi wasn't telling the whole truth. In 568 we learn that the Sage went out of his way to give each of the Nine beast a name. We learned the 4 tails is Son Goku and The Kyuubi is Kurama.

I believe that he gave them this identity to cease to this evil power that each tailed beast possess. But people like Madara, even Hashirama and Mito used and mistreated Kurama only for it's power. The same most likely occured for the other tailed beasts as well, creating all of that they currently have inside each and every one of them.

The descendants of the sage actuallly f**ked up what he was trying to accomplish in the first place.

Edit: The reason why I made this thread was because after Tobi's story people began to question the Sage's intentions as well as if he was actually a good person. It also explains why the tailed beasts are full of hate now.

Yeah this. Trying to eliminate the hate manifesting inside of the tail beasts by giving them an identity. Only for it to be taken away by people only using them for their power which multiplied the amount of hate each beast had.

Yeah that does. But after Tobi's story people started questioning the Sage's intentions. This is more of a reason to why the Tailed beast are full of hate.

This was already explained...

SO6P was said to go around, teaching the ways of ninjutsu. When he came across the 10tails, he couldnt defeat it, so he sealed it in himself. Before he died, he knew that the 10tails would manifest itself into the world, he didnt want that. So he divided the 10tails into several "smaller?" weaker forms. He never intended for them to be treated the way they were. Thats why Son Goku obviously shows a high level of respect for him.
