A lot of people still underrates rinnegan users despite the fact that it was blatantly stated in the manga that it is the most powerful dojutsu and it has the power of the god of Narutoverse: Sage of Six Paths! I hope this will educate you!

Another misconception is that Six Paths of Pain > Nagato due to sheer numbers of 6 vs 1. Don't forget that each Paths are only able to use 1 ability each and you can easily predict what ability will come at you just by knowing which Paths of Pain is coming at you. Nagato on the other hand has the advantage in terms of unpredictability and the ability to use all the power of Pain, simultaneously!

Let me provide proof on how a Rinnegan users will counter Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu like no other characters can.

EVIDENCE:

Ninjutsu: countered by Preta Path

The Preta Path (餓鬼道, Gakidō) grants the user the ability to absorb an infinite amount of chakra in any form using the Blocking Technique Absorption Seal. Also the chakra that is absorbed will add to the users chakra as displayed by Nagato absorbing Bee's Lariat. Since Susano is made of chakra, it will disintegrate when it tries to get close to a Rinnegan user and all its long range attacks will be absorbed like energy bar!

Taijutsu/Kinjutsu: countered by Deva Path, Asura Path, or Human Path

Shinra tensei will just blow away the opponent or Bansho Tenin allows the opponent to be controlled like a doll in mid-air!
This is to show you how Shinra tensei and Bansho Tenin is used against a taijutsu user like hinata (sorry for using you as an example here Princess Hinata )

Asura Paths grants the ability to form multiple mechanized hands allowing it to black incoming attacks and has a destructive canon like weapon that will blow any close combat attempts.

Human Path allows the user to extract the soul of its opponent, making them wary to even try try to get close the Rinnegan user. Once caught the opponent has low chance of escaping since they become weak as their souls starts coming out.

Genjutsu: countered by the use of Animal Paths summons and Rinnegans ability to see chakra flow!

The only way a visual genjutsu like Tsukoyomi will work is when the opponent looks directly to the eye of the caster, otherwise it won't work. With the use of assisted vissions from animal Paths, a rinnegan user can have multiple vissions of the battlefield such as behind the opponent, to the left and right sides, and arial eyes overlooking the opponent from the top. Each summons are controlled by Nagato or Rinnegan user so it may chose which direction to look to avoid looking directly at the opponents eyes.

If all Guy sensei needs to avoid genjutsu is look at its opponents feet, immagine what an areal view, backview, and side view would assist a Rinnegan users despite avoiding a direct frontal view of the opponent.

Sound genjutsu can be covered by wearing an earplugs so I won't even bother going there

Izanmi won't work also because the user has to get close the opponent to "record" the experience to create the genjutsu, before casting it.
I have already provided counters as to why the opponent won't be able to get close using Ninjutsu or Taijutsu, and if they did manage to get close, they will still lose.

Finally Rinnegan is among the 3 great dojutsus, which have the ability to see chakra flow (as shown by Pain being able to see Jiraiyas invisible barrier since it is made of Chakra)!
Remember Genjutsu is only an illusion, and people who realize that they are caught into one, they can use KA release to get out of it.
Once a rinnegan user realizes that their chakra flow is disturbed, they can fix it using KA release also!

EXTRAS:

Rinnegan users also have ability to master all of the 5 basic elemental nature for offensive attacks, no character can solo Chibaku Tensei yet, and finally the King of Hell of the Naraka Path can repair any damage done to the user, healing any wounds!

Very simple reply back to this. Nobody is invincible; even a full-powered Nagato. What would take defeating Nagato would be excellent timing, a perfect strategy and some rebound tactics, i.e. moves that make the opponent (Nagato) hit himself so as to become his own weakness and partially defeat himself. In the same way the Rinnegan user can be the most powerful, he can also be his or her greatest weakness. However, because the techniques that are provided by the Rinnegan, like you say, make you the most powerful, at least potentially or technically (I still think there are some more awesome sharingan techniques, like the genjutsu abilities, which imo, seem superior and can be used more adequately), the perfect strategist and experience-savvy shinobi with a Rinnegan would ultimately be the most powerful: a combination of Nagato's Rinnegan powers with Madara's experience and Itachi's intelligence. Throw in the EMS powers that would come along with the Rinnegan powers if one were the original Uchiha owner of the eyes and a unique OP dojutsu along with the eye, e.g. Kamui... You would probably have the greatest ninja in the NarutoVerse. Oh, as long as their chakra reserves didn't suck

It is true that Rinnegan is very powerful countering taijutsu and ninjutsu, although I am not sure about amaterasu. You see, amaterasu is black flames, not chakra as far as I know, so could a rinnegan user counter/absorb it? Amaterasu arrows for example.

A small correction : basho tennin is able to use gravitation in order to pull or push objects. The gif you posted is not canon, its an anime filler and not considered proof. God's realm used a simple shinra tensei to beat Hinata.

Rinnegan's weakness is sound genjutsu, as we saw in Jiraiya's fight. You claim that you can counter that with ear plugs. Then why Pain didnt use any of them? The fact that every Rinnegan user should carry ear plugs is ridiculous. Moreover, it is stated in the manga that sound genjutsu is the most dangerous type because you cant understand where it is coming from and affects a wide area, so animal summons are not useful.

Additionally, if you are caught in a genjutsu, your body is paralysed. Jiraiya trapped three bodies of Pain and they couldnt escape. The KA works only in particular cases(weaker genjutsus), BEFORE the user gets caught.

I believe that noone is invincible, everyone has weaknesses, as Itachi declared.

Most people just don't understand the powers of Rinnegan so they don't realize its full potential



Rinnegan has all counters for Kabuto.
I do see Kabuto pulling it off if he does surprise attack Nagato, but he needs to rely on stealth and no direct confrontation. =D



That's why I said "virutally", not completely because not everything goes perfectly as planned.
But if done properly, It's hard to see a rinnegan user looosing especially with these counters and attack arsenals!


No Shinobis could compare to the raw brute force of a tailed beast, even with Susano.

If he wasn't a good sensor, he wouldnt have been able to send his chakras to 6 dead bodies and be able to control them efficiently.
Kabuto was basically experimenting the whole time since he haven't seen a rinnegan used in actual battle.

I think this is a good post, however ones abilities will not determine the outcome of the battle. You don't need to know a lot of techniques in order to beat someone, But its how you use one technique in order to win. True, a Rinnegan opponent would be tough, however there is always a way! unless your the Sage of Six Paths, other than him, there is a way.

You serious? watch that episode again where Itachi and Nagato converse about being controlled in spite of being wielders of such powerful dojutsu. Nagato instantly senses and pinpoints Kabuto's location, despite Kabuto putting a barrier around his location........

I disagree about genjitsu.
1. Tsukoyomi will work is when the opponent looks directly to the eye of the caster, otherwise it won't work... If each eye is linked to your own field of vision, then it is like you are looking at the individual, so really it is worse for a rinnigan user and in addition genjitsu do not need eye contact to be cast. Like Kurni's plant Genjitsu, or sound genjitsu, or itachi's fingure casting genjitsu, or that sleeping genjitsu from part 1.

2.Now your point about sound genjitsu. Just because you can't hear the sound does not mean it will not effect you. There are frequencies that you can not hear and this jitsu would also be extremely effective because you do not have to be close to cast, you can hit and damage internal organs with out physical contact, and then of course genjitsu. (ear plugs... lol)

3.Izanmi won't work also because the user has to get close the opponent to "record" the experience to create the genjutsu, before casting it. ... where did it say that? You record the experience. So you can make a loop of you running through the forest and the opponent chasing you. It does not have to be a battle.
