It isn't that easy to accurately sense in the heat of battle. That is why karin couldn't loom for danzo until she hid. Nagato sensed Itachi's ama prep when he wasn't doing anything.

Missing the point, the reason why nagato got hit by Itachi was because he had no sensing ability. Its foolish to think that he cant sense the release of susanoo before Itachi made his attack.........

DSM Kabuto can one shot Pain, who is a Rinnegan user.

Rinnegan has all counters for Kabuto.
I do see Kabuto pulling it off if he does surprise attack Nagato, but he needs to rely on stealth and no direct confrontation. =D

But if done properly, It's hard to see a rinnegan user looosing especially with these counters and attack arsenals!

The abilities of the rinnegan are great, no doubt. The jutsu have to be actively used though. So a surprise attack from a distraction, like ninja do, can affect a Rinnegan user. That is how Itachi got Nagato. the Rinnegan's battle potential is extremely high though

Yes, not everything goes to plan, such as not using the right counter for each attacks.
But using these counters listed here on the right condition will be the perfect scenario to victory!

Itachi got nagato because kabuto didnt take advantage of nagato's sensing ability (he didnt even know that nagato was a sensor)

If he wasn't a good sensor, he wouldnt have been able to send his chakras to 6 dead bodies and be able to control them efficiently.

Here's a thread I made on how nagato will beat Itachi using 2 moves only:

Shinra tensei + Chibuka tensei = Itachis defeat


First move: Nagato will use Chibuka tensei to create a gravitational pull.

Second move: Use Shinra tensei to blow Itachi towards the gravity so he will be pulled faster by Chibuka tense.

Itachi can't even respond because it will be over in 2 seconds after Chibuka tensei is used, he can't get out of it and will be crushed by the gravitational pull!
