Sage Mode Jiraiya vs Itachi

Itachi is healthy and won't go blind unless he spams Amaterasu recklessly.

Jiraiya starts in SM, fused with the two sage toads.

Itachi starts in Susanoo if he wants to.

Distance: 50 meters

Location: Konoha Crater ( nowhere to hide, straightforward fight )

Why I believe Jiraiya wins:

1. Continous Sage Mode - with the 2 sage toads fused with him, he has an endless Sage Chakra pool.
2. His SM speed: he's very, very fast in this form.
3. Jiraiya's huge chakra reserves compared to Itachi's.
4. Hype. Itachi said he could only get a draw against Jiraiya and he was with Kisame. He also probably had no idea about Sage Mode.
5. Continous chakra flux + 2 toads next to him means he should be immune to genjutsu.

Jiriaya, as an imperfect sage, lacks the precogntion sensing that Kabuto has.

Without that, he can't fight Itachi as flawlessly as Kabuto did.

Meaning Itachi will likely be able to make eye contact with tricks (given his intellect) and end the match with Tsukuyomi.

Similarly, without sensing, it's unlikely Jiraiaya (with his eyes averted) can evade Amaterasu, or Totsuka.

So until then, Itachi is pretty much safe inside Susano'o (even rib cage) for 10-20 minutes.

And he'd really only need to throw Susano'o ribs up for a few seconds when under jutsu-pressure.

Since we saw Itachi hold his own against Sage Kabuto when they entered close combat.

And again, Sage Kabuto has precognitive sensing, making him much more dangerous imo.

Whereas if Jiraiya doesn't have the same respect for Itachi, and lacks knowledge, will be unprepared to deal with them.

I'm not a fan of "healthy itachi" to be honest, an I'm not sure why people disregard using edo itachi.

Anyways i think itachi wins.

Edo Itachi can only be sealed and has unlimited MS and chakra.

As for hype, that, too, could work against Jiriaya.

Jiraiya can simply run around. Itachi's Susanoo is melee. The Crater is huge.

Jiraiya knows Itachi has Amaterasu. He seemed to know quite a bit about it. He can't be caught in genjutsu because his chakra is constantly shifting ( due to the toad sages gathering sage chakra ).

The female toad also has sensing abilities, although I am unsure if they apply here.

Jiraiya could keep spamming jutsus at Itachi to keep him busy since his chakra reserves are immense and sage mode makes them even bigger. Itachi has low stamina, he can't keep the Susanoo up forever.

Partner Method to escape Genjutsu is not working here since Tsukuyomi occurs in 1 second, and it takes longer than that to break him out.

Since when did Jiraiya even have a continuous chakra flux? Whatever, the point is, even with a continous chakra flux, it does not render you immune to Genjutsu.

Kabuto got a continuous intake of Senjutsu Chakra due to Jugo's cells, but he still covered his eyes to evade Itachi and Sasuke's Genjutsu and he was controlled by Itachi's Genjutsu while still in Sage Mode.

Not to mention only an Uchiha blood related to Itachi can break Tsukuyomi (Sasuke).

Tsuluyomi will finish him off if he makes eye contact and Amaterasu will finish him off since he can't dodge it.

Actually, Jiraiya probably would take pity on him and not actually kill him. Itachi would just die of exhaustion spamming his MS because Jiraiya is a beast and Itachi can't actually scratch him. Would make this thread funnier if the OP said Jiraiya just murdered Sasuke because lol itachi fans.

Healthy itachi is edo itachi, without being an edo.

Anyway, Itachi stated that the best they could do was a stalemate, but that may be because he needed an exuse to fail the mission without kisame arguing.

If itachi can get all three in a finger genjustu, then he's won, as finger genjustu simulates reality and is hard to notice. Wihin the single second it takes itachi to stab you that is.

at this distance genjutsu wont be itachis first move. amat has a decent distance vs big targets but jiraiya will be moving with SM level speed. its gonna be nigh impossible to get a lock on him for mid range amaterasu. also first thing jiraiya will do is sink itachi in swamp of the underworld. its a basic move and huge in scale. then he does needle jizou and forces itachi to susano. itachis lost the initiative. jiraiya moves to finish him off with frog song.

Solely because of Jiraiyas respectable status, I say that Itachi wins with moderate difficult. Even his sagemode will not prevent him from being totally overwhelmed by Itachis Mangekyō Sharingan. Jiraiya will have to keep up with Itachis various skills, such as feints and speed, while continuously carry the risk of being one shotted with mere eye contact or a single glimpse of him. Among with his Susanoo, Jiraiya is definitely done.

Kabuto wasn't able to break out of it because he wasn't getting sage chakra. The frogs on Jiraiya's shoulders gather sage chakra if they feel like it, which should be enough to disturb the genjutsu. If that fails, they can simply smack him.

Hype. By Hype Jiraiya is stronger than Itachi, said by Itachi himself, with the mention that Itachi didn't know that Jiraiya was a sage.

Jiraiya knows what Amaterasu is and how it works. His speed in SM was damn fast.

When Sasuke attempted to use a genjutsu to knock B out, the Eight-Tails broke him out of it and B retaliated on the unaware Sasuke with great force, using the Eight-Tails' power to blow Sasuke's neck and chest open.

Sasuke used Tsukuyomi on Bee. Hachibi broke him out of it. It's now obvious you can get out of it.

Yes, Sasuke's Tsukuyomi is way inferior, but Jiraiya not only has the ''spiritual'' tool to get out of it ( chakra flow ), he also has the two sage toads that can smack him. That's 2 methods of getting out.

If you're going to accuse me of fanboyism stay out of my thread. If I wanted Jiraiya to win I wouldn't have used healthy Itachi. It doesn't help your case that you have an Itachi avatar.

You can't compare the damage Kakashi took to the one Jiraiya would.

1. Jiraiya is way stronger than Kakashi.
2. Sage Mode improves all of his skills, including genjutsu and resistance.

Jiraiya can last without sage mode untill itachi goes susanoo, also when itachi goes susanoo, jiraiya can summon gamabunta for some extra time, susanoo does not last forever fan-boys
