Even then such statements are not to be taken seriously: Kishimoto is a shitty writer and ****ed up portrayal/hype so much from the first 300-400 chapters it's not even funny. For all we know he could be referring to the Hashirama that fought Hiruzen (and the latter claimed that he was as strong as ever, implying Edo pt1 Hashi =< Living Hashi, and we know that's not true since it was retconned massively). This shouldn't be debated at all.

Heck, if he was considered a traitor/weakling or whatever, Hashirama should have been on his level, or he wouldn't have been sent in an assassination mission that was a suicide. "Hey dude can bust countries let's send Kakuzu-chan to destroy his ass!" obviously Kishimoto didn't intend Hashirama to be that strong at that point of the manga.

He probably would have beat Pain under the conditions of that battle, but Pain didn't send all Six Paths at him at once, nor did he use his strongest moves, nor did Deva Path even fight. So no, Pain didn't go all out. That's a fact and don't try to deny it.

All 6 paths were used on jiraiya, though they didnt have to go all out because at that point jiraiya had lost his arm so he was at a huge disadvantage. They caught him off guard when he believed he had won, which is why he lost his arm. Had he known their were 6, his guard wouldnt have been lowered.

Chapter 624, It should have been obvious that I wasn't talking about Madara w/ Kurama.

Distracted? 2 constructs from Hashirama are more than enough to obliterate these toads, and he can use clones with them. 4 Boss Toads aren't distracting a guy who can put down Bijuu with relative ease with a couple moves, let alone that same guy who can use clones, who can all use his large scale Ninjutsu. 1 handles the Toads, other clones find and kill Jiraiya. Even if he can't be sensed in there, his chakra will be sensed entering the toad, thus Hashirama kills the toad. Searching from Random Toads? Lol, buddy. The location is basically a grassland with some rocks, he doesn't need to search. Besides, he can sense chakra.

1st Bold: Wood Golem and Wood Dragon are only going to be able to take down 1 toad at a time each (which would be 2 toads). No matter how fast they defeat the toad, they dont have any feats that would allow anyone to believe they could solo shot 4 boss toads at once. After they eliminate 2 toads, then they will focus on the other 2 which will give jiraiya more then enough time to conceal his location to get Ma and Pa to get synced. Whether that takes 2 mins or 5 mins.

2nd Bold: Your in denile if you think hashirama can solo 4 boss toads without paying them any attention. His techniques are guided by him so he would have to look at what he is targeting.

Even with the creation of shadow clones, there is a 100 meter distance between him and the clones. A simple smoke bomb (after summonig) could conceal his location from the clones to allow him the ability to hide. Whether this be inside a frog or under a boulder.

Hashirama cant sense Jiraiya inside the toad or the toad itself, as Pain (Nagato) was not able to find jiraiya or the path jiraiya snatched. Nor was Nagato able to locate the frog, though he is a sensor and

IF the genjutsu hits, then yes Hashirama is screwed. However, he's never going to be hit in the first place! Flower tree world or deep forest emergence would put Jiraiya to sleep right off the bat, and then he gets killed. Quite simple. Or Hashirama could use Bringer of darkness to blind Jiraiya and make things easier.(Jiraiaya isn't a perfect Sage, so he doesn't have sage sensing like say Naruto. Hence his battle ability get's hindered). Then on top of that there's wood golem/wood dragon.(if by some miracle Jiraiaya survives that long) To be honest Hashirama one shots him with FTW.

Toad Sages, would immediately snap him out of it.

FTW has never been shown to one shot anyone. Even the kages were able to escape it. A large enough Fuuton would easily counter.
