Have you ever felt sad and wanted to kill yourself? What did you do to recover from this, did anyone help you?

to be honest i never felt that much sadness in my life,i never lost someone important to me or anything else that can make me that much sad ,but as everyone i feel sad sometimes and of course i always find my friends to support me ,i'm very close with my old sister too so when i feel sad she always come to me ask me what's wrong ,so i guess if you feel sad and want to kill yourself you should talk to the closest person to you ,the person who understands you and you feel free to tell em anything .

Well, I guess almost everyone has felt like this even if once in their lives,....
usually, I try avoiding opening up, instead I prefer people opening up to me,....
someone helped me????? in some of those moments yes and others no,.....

If you're feeling that way, you can always VM me, you're on my friends list after all ;)

I've been to that point of life before.
Some cross that line of wanting to kill themselves, where others find help.
Life isn't easy especially when you feel like you have nobody to turn to.
Feeling lonely even though you are surrounded by friends, is one of the worst feelings in the world.
 I'm always here for you <3
Sometimes all we need is a person to listen to our problems with out being judged.
There are people that will just jump to conclusions and criticize you, which just makes us bottle up these emotions until a breaking point is reached.
You know I would never do this to you <3 so don't ever be afraid to pm me and dump all your troubles onto my shoulders. Share that weight, don't try to do it yourself. We all need someone at one point in our life :glomp:
<3 <3 <3 <3 You are loved and would be missed, so don't take matters into your own hands. <3 <3 <3 <3

I have. Probably not as many times as others, well I wouldn't really know about that since I've never asked anyone or don't hold a count on any of it, but that's how I feel it is.
I'd say there are more reasons to why you would feel like wanting to kill yourself as there are people thinking it, though we can categorize it thanks to similarities. The point being that it is very diversified and hard to pinpoint, thus clouding the question about recovery and what it really means.
From what my experience and knowledge tells me, you're pointing at the kind of recovery which is specific. That is, it is a recovery from that certain period of suicidal thoughts, not from the falling into these periods as a whole.
I'm not going to say it is possible to never be sad, that I don't know about, but suicidal thoughts is a very extreme case of sadness. Its roots are most of the time a result of observations made by yourself but which are heavily influenced through what you're told and how people act in your relations. So, if you're seeking temporary recovery, go to someone who cares about you, but you must be certain that they care about you, otherwise it would not be a very good recovery, since such people tend not to put aside much time for you, of course there are exceptions, since there could be quality-time(so to speak).

Me, I can't say I've ever recovered, I just got back up on that thin line and am balancing on it with my façades, I'm seeking to do otherwise.

I feel that way constantly. My life has been very painful. Deep down inside, I'm very upset and have suffered a lot. Through abusive father, ex-gf, so-called friends, bullying, etc. I always get suicidal thoughts when I'm alone. Every single time, it's like I can't control it anymore :/

But you know, around people, I rarely show my sadness. People start calling me "emo" and it's annoying >_> So I mask my sorrow with humor and laughs. I love making people laugh :D That's what cheers me up a little and keeps me going... I guess?

But meh, at the end of the day, you can't help but feel hopeless :/

So open up to those who won't judge you, it's as easy as that. Well, the difficulty may vary depending on whether you have such a person or not, but finding one shouldn't be too hard. It might be a boss level difficulty, but you often win in the end, no?

The thoughts that we have when it comes to the topic never seem to go away.
Sometimes medication makes it worse, sometimes it helps. :/
Talking to a person that can truly understand you and help you work through those problems though, is all it takes to lessen the thoughts when you're alone. <3

Yes, but it's impossible for me to do it.

I got help/help found me.

Yes.

I no longer feel that sadness... it's completely gone. (And not because of Meds)

Believe me, I've tried D:
But it hasn't really helped. I'm thinking of getting some professional help after my finals are done with :)

Aw, so sweet
I actually do take medication; anti-anxiety tablets and sleeping pills, because nowadays, I sleep for >6 hours :/ Today I slept at 6am and woke up at 9am o.o It's due to these exams and all, things will tone down after they're over. Though father yelling and pressurizing really doesn't help at all :|

I'll consider professional help if it still continues; I'm just waiting til my finals finish. Then I'm off for uni, far away from daddy-o, and I'm looking forward to that :D

Then I hope that helps.
Oh, and about the sleeping issue, it is actually so that we humans originally sleep in cycles and used to sleep for four hours at a time, that is, we sleep approximately for four hours, then woke up and did something, then after that went back to sleep another four hours. So try not to count it as eight or six hours, if you're to believe these scientists, it's natural to wake up in the middle of the night etc.

What you say doesn't strike me as very informative, besides, I think cowards can also choose the tough guy act, it is not necessarily reserved for the so called "brave"(whatever that means).

Not everyone can just "suck it up" and move on, sometimes they need help and have no to go to.

I'm currently undergoing through that now, but I've never came to a point that I want to kill myself. I just feel rather sad..or depressed, I admit. I do my best to distract myself, but in the end of the day, I can't help thinking of the sad things because I'm alone. I sometimes laugh and then the next minute, I become quiet. It's like I'm bipolar or something. I'm trying my best to move on and continue with my life, because sulking doesn't do anything to make it better, I know. They say "Time heals all wounds"..I hope it's true. >_>
