This might not seem that manly coming from me, but I'll have to day Dobby from Harry Potter. That shit was just sad and uncalled for.

Also Sam. The dog from I Am Legend. Dogs dont deserve death. (Damn you mike vick)

Severus Snape. Spent his whole life in the friendzone and contributed to the death of love of his life. His death was sad

Hmm my last I would have to say is Asuma Sarutobi. He was originally my favorite in the series. Then Kishi made him fight two immortals with haxxxed abilities. Bastard.

How about you guys?

That's amazing. Mine is asuma aswell. Man I loved that guy(no homo)

The saddest death for me was Hershel from TWD or Dobby from Harry Potter as well...(I cried :sweat)
Plus some things from Naruto I'd rather not mention

The way his head flew was sad :/ and Dobby didn't deserve it. Lol why not mention?
Boromir
Ace
Mufasa

These are the first that come up right now.

Boromir kind of deserved it. Was sad though.

Mufasa was the worse. I was 1 when i first seen it and it was the saddest thing ever

The dog from I am Legend made me cry when he was forced to put it down. I could feel Will Smith's agony through the screen when he realized he had no other choice to do that. Severus Snape wasn't as much emotional for me as it was just pure sadness. Reminded me a lot of Itachi. Constantly portrayed in a villainous role, but once it was all said it and done, he turned out to be protecting Harry for Harry's mother, much like Itachi was always watching over Sasuke. In Mirai Nikki, it wasn't so much as a single death but a revelation that Yukki had near the end of the manga when he was finally convinced that even with the power of God, he couldn't resurrect his dead parents. Heart wrenching as hell.

*********Tokyo GHOUL SPOILER*********
Kaneki's death in Tokyo Ghoul was just a huge punch in the gut considering it happened in the 2nd to final chapter. Not to mention how utterly gruesome it was.

What made it sad was the monologue that he has inside his subconscious, wherein he realizes how he messed up by thinking he was actually doing things for others when in reality he was doing them for his own self acceptance.
That moment where he is crying in front of his childhood self (his innocence/humanity) and tells him he's sorry for letting things turn out that way, is truly heart wrenching.
