@bold.. they are still in their prime.. And yes they have to be on that level, for luffy to be Strong as/stronger than Roger.

@bold, did you just ask why a Marine admiral, who is the strongest force of the WG, need to keep getting stronger, when there are pirates such as the Yonko, with thousands under their command?

Idk, you tell me why a soldier wouldn't strive to get stronger, during a time of great chaos.

Why would a marine Admiral who is recognized as the pinnacle of strength still get stronger especially in old age? Everyone's strength declines at Akainu ages he's not increasing at all if anything in a few years he will start to decline. Nobody wants to get weaker, weak reasoning for why he will stay stronger. WB said it himself you can't be the strongest forever

Or maybe you need to stop overrating the hell out of the old generation. Akainu as it stands is up there with the strongest characters in the series. Oda said One Piece would end in a year if Akainu was the protagonist. Old WB looked near useless against Akainu and the other Admirals, as it stands they don't need to create an even bigger gap than there already is between Luffy and them, and I highly doubt after 53 years Akainu just now decides "let me try and get stronger" as if he didn't already do that 2 years ago when he had possibly more than 30 years as a Marine to get stronger, sorry to break it to you but the top tiers aren't getting any stronger, they were already in their top form 2 years ago.

Law quoted it perfectly himself. While the people at the top sit there idly, the worst generation is slowly climbing up to their level.

"Sit there idly".. is something 4 Emperors and the admirals sadly don't do. The Supernovas are progressing fast, however the progression of the upper tiers is slower.. nonetheless it is still there.

"stop overrating the old generation".. sorry, but considering WB was nearly whippin on Akainu at sick old age, i don't need to overrate them, when Manga already puts them at another level.


Its not "let me try and get stronger at the age of 53".. its them training as soldiers and making progress in strength, as time goes on, until their prime is done and they start to decline in strength. It is common sense, you simply need to grasp it.

Whipping on Akainu? Whitebeard was in no way whipping on Akainu. The anime version has you overrating the **** out of Newgate.
