You know, the show itself uses the Japanese names for a lot of things, such as Gomu for gum, Mero for love and so on. It also extends to places like Shabondy for Sabaody. But some of those subs decide to keep in the Japanese and tell you what they mean, or some just translate them right off the bat.

Do you prefer to use the japanese words for these things, or the english?

"Sabao" is the portuguese word for soap. He just added a "dy" to make it look like the name of a land. Thus "Sabaody" the land of soap, which fits perfectly given the existence of the giant mangrove's oil and breathing that produces the super bubbles ;)
