Which series is better? I dont have a clue , because I've only see a few episodes of both, and that was a long time ago.

Champloo is funnier. Btw, im not sure if there are HD series of Kenshin.

Tho, I'd recommend you to watch Hakuouki Reimeiroku. (This one is better).

kenshin was good but champloo was more action packed. im gonna say kenshin just because of nostaglia but for action im going for champloo. it had way better fight scenes as far as choreography. but kenshin had better techniques and moves. but samurai X slaughters both

They are both great series (very short). Rurouni Kenshin is more old-school, while Champloo has better animation, more modern humor and character development. My advice, watch both. They are short series and a weekend marthon is enough to watch both.

Samurai Champloo by far.

More engaging storyline, better comedy and better action scenes.

Samurai x/Rurouni Kenshin was by far the better seires, IMO. If one finishes with the OVA's, they can see Shinta's tranformation full circle. Paired with the anime/manga, It presents a story that you'll grow to appreciate. Better overall character development, as well. Samurai Champloo is more modern. IMO, it is more flashy overall, but contains much less depth in terms of characters. It's a good series, though.

RK is juvenile and most people hold it high for the same reason as DBZ - sentimentality.

The characters in SC are quickly engaging and more compelling whereas in RK, they're just bog standard. And the characters certainly aren't better developed, at least where it's important they're not.

Champloo is more mature, has better animation and action, the characters are more vibrant and the plot is leagues more interesting. Oh, and Champloo is one of the few animes overall to keep me fully engaged and moreover, one of even fewer animes to make me laugh.

Samurai X/Kenshin is not even in DBZ's league in terms of storyline. It's far better. I agree with you about the DBZ nostalgia bit. It's a series that I grew up with, so I probably do like DBZ for nostaligia. Kenshin, I like b/c it actually has a storyline that's engaging. I speak more to the OVA's when I say that. They take a tone that I would consider the opposite of juvenile. Samurai Champloo struck me as more comedic, overall. It was a less mature series when compared, again, to the OVA's of Samurai X. When compared to the anime or manga, I could see how you could classify the Kenshin as being less mature than Samurai Champloo. To each his own, I suppose.

Samurai Champloo. It was more my style, I liked the characters better and the way the story was. I enjoy both series big time though, I binged watched them both.

There is RK reanimated arc, it also includes *** scene(talk about mature). Here's how it looks:
