On NB we're tested, not to see whether we can role-play a character, but if we can use their abilities correctly and with a certain level of skill. I love Danzo's abilities, I really do, but I dislike his personality and his general appearance.
I've tested for his abilities, why can't I put them on a 'custom bio' if I follow the restrictions set for the Danzo bio?
Are you worried about the integrity of canon characters? Canon characters who have copies of themselves running around? Canon characters who never act canonically? Canon characters who are picked only for their abilities and never role-played?
If I keep the Danzo bio but role-play him as a little girl... well first of all it wouldn't work because my bio would still be Danzo, bound by his canonical history, appearance and personality, but it would also be moot. If the aim is to protect canonical integrity; the actual role-play aspect of a canon character should be a part of the bio.
It's not.

I can understand that you believe it's stupid, I really can, but I find that I see this as a 'Larry Flynt versus The People' kind of case. You may not like it, but it doesn't hurt anyone. It really doesn't. It wouldn't make anything harder for the checkers if you structure it right, it wouldn't make the RP more unbalanced. It would do nothing but add more character-diversion to the role-play.

I can say the same for any character. :| I agree and understand, but these are unique abilities to Special Characters in Naruto. You given this unique abilities to "Skin Bio's" would be just the same as losing the originality to a Special Character. It could be contradicting what you are asking. Could it?

3. As for the test, you are testing your skill with the Bio abilities.

4. To someone else, Danzou is prefect from any village he came from or is held in. Put it like this, any one could hold the Danzou Bio, but none of them can Role-play as him like me.

4. But in the end. You aren't role playing as Danzo. You're not even rp'ing in actuality, your just doing your own thing. And if you are so for rp'ing as a bio while completely disregarding how they are actually supposed to be played as then why are you against bio skins? Whats the actual difference? A different body and personality?

In so far, no one has flamed or member bashed; we've simply voiced our opinions on the matter. Criticism is an opinion. "I like this. I don't like that." Telling us not to criticize is effectively telling us to sit back and take things as they are. I am going to refuse to do so. I do believe that criticism should be delivered in a non-insulting manner, which I believe we are managing to do, thus my declining. We can't bar discussions because they MIGHT offend someone, otherwise important topics would never be discussed. If others wish to end the discussion, that's fine. I've already voiced why I believe it'll be pointless to take it to Caliburn again, though. The man has made his decision. I'm saying I disagree with it.

Beyond that, we're discussing the topic in a civilized manner in the proper place. I don't see an issue. Thus, I must decline your request.

The NB roleplay has made a big issue out of "you can role-play as you want, the rules are open enough that you can impose restrictions to suit your needs." Allowing character skins would fit well into that mode of operation; if people wanted to RP against the Bio UNDER the skin, they could simply say in the rules "skin's do not apply."

You will abide by the simple reason that I'm not telling you to shut up and take it... I'm telling you to take it, construct it and post&discuss it where it is to be discussed and talked which is not here. Its in the Q&S and/or directly with Caliburn as nothing you can say here will change anything or actually improve anything or gain anything other than negative feelings. I don't like nor do I feel its my job to let members stir multiple criticism when they already have an answer and they have a means to dicuss things correctly.

You say you won't talk to caliburn because it won't change a thing. Well, he's the only one who has power to change it. If you wanted to change it, you'd talk to him. But no, you come to a thread to bring it up and criticize his ruling on the issue. Not with him but with members. Members who will, later or sooner, step out of line because it always happens. So no, you don't want to talk or change or suggest anything, you want to criticize for the sake or criticizing. And thats unhealthy and doesn't bring anything to the table.

If you want it, go make it happen. The only way to make it happen, is suggesting over and over again, talking to the person who can change it and do it until you get either what you want or get bored doing it. Regardless, none of it is to be done here and not in the form of criticizing the staff and depicting us a tyrants. If we were, don't you think you wouldn't even be talking here in the thread and that your posts about this would have been deleted?

I only ask common sense and a bit of maturity from members. There is a place to suggest and discuss everything and the right people to talk to each issue about. If you have a problem with a technique, you come to me, you don't go posting in chat threads about it nor do you go ask...dunno...reborn to fix it. He won't be able to do anything. This is the same case. Its a bio suggestion/request and one that is so deep only Caliburn can rule on it. So talk to him if you want it or stop talking about it if you gave up like you said you did.

ZK's right and I don't know how one can argue it. In the case he was pointing out he was tested on his skill concerning Danzo's abilities and passed. He should be able to use his abilities on a character in which he can enjoy RP'ing better with.
