So sound release allows one to create and manipulate sound waves that can have varying effects. Outside of dealing direct damage to an opponent or technique, you can make use of it to place debilitating effects on your opponent such as paralysis and whatnot. You can also cast illusion through the soundwaves.

Keep in mind it can have various effects depending on the medium it is used through. Anyways, onto the first technique.

Pretty simple, as it enables a form of sensory. That maintaining cost is fucking ridiculous though. Any questions? Thoughts?

(Ototon: Naiteki Ne no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Inner Sonar Skill

Description: The user will enhance their hearing by infusing his ears with sound chakra. Then, by utilizing chakra and enfacing his lungs, the user will be able to control the frequency and intensity of the sound emitted from his simple breathing. This low frequency, inaudible sound is passively emitted and has no effect other than emerging from him and bouncing off of objects. Using the enhanced hearing, the user is able to know where everything is around them, effectively creating a sonar effect through the rebound and reflection of sound waves. The hearing and the sonar effect is precise enough so that one can effectively use it to substitute one's vision in battle if needed. Despite being very effective, specially if the user has any of his other senses hindered, it also leaves the user vulnerable to sound genjutsu or sound attacks which will be much more drastic in its effects.

You control the frequency of the sound emitted from your breathing, creating an inaudible sound wave that's passively emmited and allows you to know what's around you by bouncing off objects.

No questions on this technique. It's pretty simple and that per turn cost is neat as heck. The only thing about this technique is that while using it you become susceptible to load techniques like other sound attacks.

Essentially an upped up version of the Inner Sonar Skill as it enables deflection of some basic attacks in addition to the detection function.

(Ototon: Chūnyū no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Infusion Technique

Description: A simple technique where the user touches an object and infuses it with sound chakra, enabling it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.

A stronger variation of the deflection with it being more focused and lacking the detection aspect, would combine nicely with your hand clap tai technique.

Somewhat like a bootleg Frog Kata, as it enables you to have a second layer of attack that can cause deliberating effects on the afflicted area.

Description: The user gathers chakra either around their fist, arm, or leg and then charges towards their opponent. Upon utilizing an attack involving the aforementioned limb, it causes a release of sonic vibrations (of a low frequency but with a high amplitude) that act as a secondary strike, making the opponent unable to use the body part that has been hit for 1 turn. This happens because the sound vibrations damage soft tissue by resonating within the water molecules that reside within it. The effect is similar to a localized explosion upon contact that rips through the targeted area and creates a shockwave that blasts the target backwards. The skill is exceptionally useful if used against solid techniques such as those from Earth Release (or similar) which will shatter upon being hit.

Infusion Technique - This technique allows you to infuse an object you touch with sound chakra and cause it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. It functions similar to inner sonar skill in the fact that it lets you know its position and the position of whatever the object deflects. This sound can also be applied to solid objects such as earthen pillars or crystalline structures and enable you to either destroy them or detect things around you by resonating with the same low frequency.


Clapping Hands - You charge sound chakra into the palm of your hands and slam them together to create high-frequency soundwaves that can be used to disperse incoming solid technique of B rank and below. The affected techniques themselves don't have to be solid in composition since they can work on water release. I can see the potential combination with the Focal Point tech.


Sonic Fist - So you channel chakra around your limb and cause it to release sonic vibrations that act as a secondary strike which diable the use of a targeted body part for a single turn. This is a result of the vibration resonating with molecules in the body. it's also useful against solid techniques, causing them to shatter on impact.

Echo assault is similar to stuff you have on your Inuzuka I believe, a chakra roar basically. Eruption and Downfall is nice in how it's executed, but effect wise it's underwhelming, though it does open up custom potential. Whispers is meh, unless you have a way of marinating the whistle, something I believe that has been done before through customs, Erzo specifically iirc.

The user has control over the illusion, being able to make it seem as if entire trees have been snapped in half, falling on the target or as if an earth structure has collapsed either above or beneath the opponent, etc. The illusion can be edited to fit the situation and even the sound can be slightly altered deepening on the object that is "snapped". Is more effective depending upon the terrain this is used in ( extremely effective in a forest, not effective in a desert ).

The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.

Echo Assault Skill - You gather sound chakra into your throat as you inhale, and then exhale as you scream, yell, or road. This results in a massive shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels in its path. Unfortunately, this tech weakens as it travels but gets a +20 damage boost in damage.

Eruption and Downfall - You charge sound chakra into your hands and snap your fingers to trigger an illusion where the sound is amplified to the point that the opponent believes the snap came from directly into his hair. In the illusion you make it appear as if the ground beneath them is cut in half and they're falling through the earth. You have control over the illusion, and instead of the ground opening up you can make it seems as if a branch has snapped from a tree and is falling toward the opponent to push them into the earth, meaning that the technique will be more effective depending on the terrain its used in.

Whispers to the Canines - This technique allows you to gather sound chakra in your vocal cords and whistle to release a high-frequency sound wave similar to a faint buzzing in the target's ear, but instead of causing them to become disoriented it impairs their hearing. This makes the buzzing the only thing he can hear outside of exceptionally loud sounds. This makes it so the opponent can't hear incoming attacks.

Scream of Despair Skill - As you mentioned, this is a wider version is the Echo Assault Skill.You channel chakra into your vocal cords to amplify your voice as you scream, roar, or yell, resulting in the release of a large omnidirectional sound wave

Calling on Tears Technique - A pretty basic tech that seems really useful. You create a wave of sound that incapacitated anyone who hears it for a single turn by crying. Not sure how I'd feel having my bio cry to use this, and I'd like to know about the extent of the 'incapacitation'. As an added effect, the frequency of the crying sound can trigger explosive tags.

Greater Echo Assault Skill - Similar to the weaker version, you gather sound chakra into your throat as you inhale, and then exhale as you scream, yell, or roar. This results in a massive shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound in a focused beam that levels anything within a fifty-degree angle in front of the user. Though it moves slower than the unfocused version, this technique still gains an additional +20 damage when used in water.

Shattering is having sound around your hands and slamming them together to have a nice wide scaled shockwave.

Jackhammer is a pretty cool one which I see that you've learned a better custom variation of. But basically sending sound through the ground as you run to really inconvenience your opponent.

Divinity is a cool one, as you focus sound chakra into your limbs which are not visible. You can then attack your opponent with said sound waves, with the effects varying on which type of sound you used with it. Works well with chakra less tai too

However, because it produces no externalization of the vibrations, as the limbs are only infused with sound chakra and the vibrations happen in what is hit, the user cannot attack or defend from things that would otherwise hurt him like bladed weapons, etc.

Shattering Vibrations - So with this, you gather sound chakra into your hands to create a vibrating field around them that resonates at different low frequencies. By slamming your hands together and forcing them to resonate, you can create an explosion in the form of a massive sound wave that damages and pushes back anything within a 160-degree angle in front of you.

Jackhammer - ASh yea this is kinda similar to the cj I learned from ibby where you send chakra into the ground but that's it for similarities. In this technique, the chakra you release into the ground as you run causes immense vibration to propagate into the ground and into the enemy, making them lose balance as the sound waves collide with them repeatedly. The continuous assault causes internal pain and makes them nauseous. it is pretty easy to counter though.

Divinity - This tech allows you to deliver taijutsu attacks that shatter anything on contact by focusing sound chakra into the attacking limb. If used against living targets the blow damages the soft tissue if a low-frequency sound wave is used or their bones directly if high-frequency sound is used. I like that you can choose between the two frequencies depending on the type of damage you want to inflict.

Ringing Madness is a fun little one that I can see being fun to use in the NW. Voice of Midas is another annoying one that used to get spammed back in the day. Easy paralysis technique. Howling is hair-ist as it can be used by bald people.

Description: The user, gathering their sound chakra into their throat and emitting a sound (anything from a simply whistle to speaking or screaming, etc), creates a high frequency wave that targets a foe's ear, causing this portion of sound to remain in their opponents' ears, manifesting as a building ringing sound. The ringing continues to grow as time progresses, originally disrupting how a person hears hampering their ability to think clearly. From that point, it starts to mess with their balance until they become incredibly disorientated, and unable to mold chakra properly due to this.
Note: Lasts 8 turns and reduces damage of the jutsu used against the user by -5 until this effect wears off while increasing the chakra cost of every technique the enemy uses by +10

As the hands slam together, it releases a high pitched, high frequency sound wave, resonating in the enemies ear, and causing muscle paralysis upon hearing it. As the loud sound happens, it creates an echoing amongst the field, trapping any who hear it under paralysis, causing slight pain to them, causing their ear drums to bleed. Paralysis lasts one turn but the user cannot use any other sound techniques for 2 turns after using it.

Ringing Madness - So for this tech you gather sound chakra into your throat and emit a sound from screaming to simply speaking, through which a high-frequency sound wave is released that targets the ear that remains in their ear and manifests as a building ringing sound. The ringing continues to grow as time goes on and disrupts their ability to think clearly, and messes with their balance until they get disoriented. Unable to mold chakra properly, all of the opponent's techniques lose five damage over the next eight turns and increase the chakra cost of their techniques by an additional 10.

The voice of Midas - Ah yes, I remember this tech being used a lot back in the day. The user charges their hand with sound chakra and slams them together to create a sound similar to heavy cymbals crashing together, which is a high pitch, high-frequency sound wave that resonates in the enemy's ear. This causes muscle paralysis to not just the enemy though, but anyone who hears it as the sound echoes through the area. The paralysis lasts one turn.

Howling Hair Sound Wave - Kotetsu has some fabulous hair, and by whipping it around he can generate high-frequency sound waves that can disorient a foe and also deal slicing damage.

Banshee, another classic that was pretty annoying. You produce a sound that causes an illusion of pure pain to take over your opponents senses. During it you can't use other techniques and have to maintain the sound. MEAS is the final form of the line of techniques, being stronger and having more range depending on how you release it. Heavenly Revenge is stomping the ground with the stomp sound being amplified to create an omnidirectional sound explosion that also messes with those underground. Ripple is simple and straightforward as it focuses sound onto one's limbs and channels it into the opponent upon physical contact, having it ripple through their body and sending them flying.

Description: The most powerful sound illusion to be created, A Century of Torture at the Hands of a Banshee is a deviant technique, capable of rendering even the most powerful of enemies riddled with fear. The user will focus his sound chakra into a sound he will produce and which will carry the illusion and trigger it on any enemy that hears it. The illusion triggered is simple but surprisingly effective in all its simplicity: pain. Anyone who hears the sound will feel unimaginable amounts of pain all over their body to such an extent that they may even vomit and lose control of their chakra flow. Upon facing such pain, the enemy will lose control over his body and spasm as they curl to try and alleviate the pain. The longer the target is caught in the illusion the more severe the effect is. The illusion however is just that: an illusion. The pain isn't real or associated with any bodily aspect or damage. The user must, however, sustain the inducing sound and focus into his chakra flow (not being able to mold chakra at the same time) to sustain the effects of the illusion as when the sound ends, the enemy stops feeling the pain and recovers virtually immediately. Sounds that can trigger the illusion and carry it can vary from a whistle (very effective as it can be sustained for a lengthy time and be controlled), scream (less lengthy but easier to perform), music (if the user has a musical instrument), etc. If the sound is momentary, however, it will not induce an effective effect.

(Ototon: Ōkibo na Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Massive Echo Assault Skill

Description: This is a much greater and skilled version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude destructive sound that levels anything in its path. The biggest different is that the user can control the area of affect of the technique, depending on the range he targets and the angle of the sound waves his sound waves take. 180º to 90º, the technique is Short Ranged. 90º to 45º, the technique is Mid-Range and from 5º to 45º the technique is Long Ranged. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.

These are able to stop any incoming attack (following logic and elemental interactions) but also disable and stop any attack or thing moving or traveling through the ground.

Description: A technique that stands as a combination of both the (Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist and the (Ototon: Shinsei) - Sound Release: Divinity. The user will gather massive amounts of chakra into his limbs and deliver a single, powerful blow into a given target. Not only does the chakra engulf the chosen limb in an aura of vibrations and destructive low frequency sound waves but also, upon making contact with the target, channels the sound into the target, causing vibrations to ripple through the target. What happens is a massive shockwave that blasts outwards on contact, causing massive destruction all around up to the limits of Short-range, producing a small crater (if it hit an opponent, he is sent backwards into long range). This effect is amplified by the sound vibrations infiltrated into the target which ripple through it and cause destruction from within it. The damage is higher on softer tissue which is severely bruised. The technique is highly effective again liquids and highly dense solids.

A Century of Torture at the Hands of a Banshee - "Allegedly" the most powerful sound illusion to ever be made, this technique with an absurdly long name allows the user to focus their sound chakra into a sound they produce that trap any enemy who hears it by causing them to fell unimaginable pain all over their body. They lose control over their body and spasm as they curl up in an attempt to alleviate the pain. In order to maintain the illusion, the user must sustain it and can't mold chakra for other techniques at the same time or attack or move from their position.

Massive Echo Assault Skill - The ultimate version of the original echo assault skill, this technique allows the user to gather and release sound chakra from his throat through a scream, roar, or yell that releases a massive shockwave that levels anything in its path. Unlike the previous versions, the user can control the spread of the technique to determine its effective range. As usual, you get that good extra +20 damage in water.

Heavenly Revenge - You stomp your foot and release a massive amount of sound chakra into the ground that amplifies the sound of the stomp and releases it as a wave through the ground and air in the form of an omnidirectional explosion that causes the ground to crack open around the user and pushes the air all around up to mid-range. This allows you to stop incoming attacks of equal strength or even of a stronger technique that is weak to sound. it also stops anything moving through the ground.

Ripple of the Lake - Ok so this last tech is a combination of two others. It allows you to gather large amounts of sound chakra into your limbs and deliver a powerful blow to a target that causes vibrations to ripple through them. The shockwave blasts outwards on contact and causes large-scale destruction within short range to leave a giant crater. if the opponent is hit they get sent long-range away. Since this technique is effective on liquids, I'm guessing it can be used on certain water techniques as well.
