It was originally a peaceful protest by the family of the man who was shot, people then changed it all about racism and got involved. The family of the man who was shot want nothing to do wih the rioters and dont want the riot to be about him.

And all this reason about it being about steretypes and racism, most of the pictures of people looting are either black or of other ethnicity, how does that prove their point against stereotyping...

I am not racist and i dont want to come across that way and i am sorry if i offend anyone in anyway.

That's what happens in most of the cases in riots related with such issues. That's the mob mentality and opportunist crminals.

These riots have gone out of control. This is no longer about the shooting any more, half the people that were apart of the riots last night probably don't even watch the news. These are opportunistic youths thinking they can get away with it. Pure and simple.

Word is that tonight it will be more of the same and I would hate to think what will happen to my beloved town considering I was at the doorstep of one of the boroughs that were getting vandalised. The only difference is that the metropolitan police has called in policemen from other cities and counties and approximately doubling the police force for what's to come.

.. there can be a curfew and next army can be deployed- but government has to decide if the situation is that extreme. By that time usually they give orders to shoot at sight if anyone breaks the curfew.

I don't know much.. But I think they should at least tried to impose a curfew of some sort.. like prohibitting a gathering of more than four people at one place etc.. and they can use rubber bullets to disperse if they break them off if they don't listen ..initially and then get more strict??

Hell, Gujrat government was able to stop worse riot in three days after the train burning incident and still it was criticized for mismanagement. Gujrat is so much bigger than Britain.

Lately I'm reading a biography of Abraham Lilkolkn, a book which describes his effort to free the slaves and was against the slavery but until this day even though they are free a lot of peoples disrespect them just because of their skin's color but they are humans just like you so they have the right to start a protest and when is needed a riot if they are treated like aliens.

So what you say is, if 1 Policeman is racist, the whole Government should be rioted ?

Please understand that when the police wears his uniforms he along with it "wears" more privileges than a normal citizen, the policemen should be an example for the citizens since he's meant to bring justice so there can be peace. An normal citizen is different from a policemen. It's a shame for the policemen to be a racist. He was just a police, I know but he got involved is a serious problem, racism, now the whole world knows about this news, this may inspire other racist groups or persons to do the same and who inspired them? A policemen, "the example of an country"! As long as that policemen isn't arrested the riots should begin because by not arresting the policemen it means that the government agrees with his actions, which is a shameful act. He may fix this mistake by simply asking for forgiveness.

you are right... and i think its over know.. but there are certain things about it..
1.why was the man shot?
2.why a protest changed into riots?
3.was racialism the cause?
4.why police didnt take harsh measurements?
5.why were expensive devices and other stuff looted ?
there are so many things that come into mind.If the man was shot cuz he fired first then there is no point behind protesting or anything.And i personally think that they said this in order to hide the personal mistake of the authorities.But its changing into riots seem to be something else.Those who werent living there lives as they wanted turned protest into riots.For example: i see an add of a latest i phone.then i think that what if i had this.But i cant afford it.then i see an opportunity to cause hazard and in it, i steal the i phone which i longed.
these riots to me were basically the doings of opportunists.police keeping it down till the end was to ensure no further life loss..
