Rinnegan. Where does it truly come from?

The Rin'negan is the medium by which the Shinju utilizes it's Chakra. Since there was no such thing as Ninjutsu prior to Hagoromo or outside of the Planet where the Naruto Manga takes place, host's of the Shinju's Chakra would awaken the Rin'negan as a means to utilize it's power as a God. The sense behind it is that both Chakra and Rin'negan are naturally apart of the Shinju's composition and Genetics so eating of it would be equal to ingesting it's genetics which is then distributed throughout the consumers body by stimulating two new functions: Moulding Spritual energy and Physical energy within the consumer which would produce chakra and granting them Doujutsu by which this Chakra can be utilized. ​

It just says where momoshiki came from, no mention was made of otsutsuki.
And I'm sure the Kinshiki went independently to and from the planet (not entirely sure).

The Otsutsuki home planet/dimension is completely unknown. The planet where Momo resided was just their home...

What we do know from the latest movie is that there are other Otsutsukis scattered all over the universe.
