Tenseigan offers a chakra mode that let Toneri, an unskilled fighter, contend with Naruto using Rikudo chakra and match his speed, strength, and durability. It gave him Truth-Seeking Balls, the ability to give life to an enormous golem, the power to form physical objects from nothing, telekinesis, and the ability to form chakra constructs powerful enough to slice the moon in half. A skilled Rinnegan user, Nagato, couldn't contend with Sage Mode Naruto. An unskilled Tenseigan user, Toneri, could contend with Kurama Mode/RSM Naruto.

Do the math. Tenseigan > Rinnegan.

Lmao, the Rinnegan wank is real. Pretty sure Toneri w/ Byakugan isn't as strong as EMS Madara, yet Toneri w/ Tenseigan is far stronger than Rinnegan Madara w/o the Juubi considering his feats. He's even above One Eyed JJ Madara and definitely Juubito. Capable of fighting on par with Naruto after getting Hagoromo's chakra, despite the fact that he was using BSM.

Then there's the fact that it gives the user a chakra mode, so it boosts all abilities and physical attributes while Rinnegan doesn't. Toneri can cut the Moon in half with Tenseigan's abilities. Rinnegan Madara w/ both eyes can't even reach Moon Level. Not to mention Toneri has the Gudo Dama.

When anyone can show me Rinnegan Madara being JJ level w/o the Juubi, then we can talk. Until then, Tenseigan is a superior Dojutsu.

He's right. The Naruto that Toneri fought is far above the one Nagato fought. The Naruto that Toneri fought would shitstomp Nagato with absolutely no effort yet Toneri beat his ass. But that's not why Tenseigan>Rinnegan since Nagato isn't a real wielder of the eyes. Though the above "strategy" for beating Toneri is laughable as all hell, especially if you are insinuating that Nagato beats him.

-When Preta Path can absorb the balls that negate all Ninjutsu then we can talk. Toneri's attacks are Senjutsu anyway, Nagato would turn to stone from absorbing all that chakra, assuming he could absorb it.

-Banso Tennin? Ningendo? If Nagato, or any Rinnegan user, pulls Toneri towards them, then they get obliterated by the Gudo Dama while said Gudo Dama also block the Rinnegan wielder from taking Toneri's soul.

Because he had the Ghedo Mazo in him at first and Black Zetzu keeping him alive in order to collect the Rinnegan for Madara and the other half of the Kyuubi.
