Rikudou Vs. Juubi: Did he face final form Juubi?

Did the Sage of the Six Paths ever face the 'final form juubi'? The frames we have seen of the Sage standing in front of the juubi with his staff, resemble the old version of the juubi, not the new slimline final form Juubi that we've just been introduced to. Does that mean that The Rikudou Sennin only ever faced an 'unevolved' (if you will) juubi. If so, what hope do the alliance have?

It seems to be that way, though Kishi probably didn't know what the Jubi's perfect form would look like at the time when he drew the Sage vs. Jubi flashback.

IMO it resembles the old fat version, and not so much the new slimline version.

Although that being said, it might just look anorexic because it's not got all of its' former self i.e. Kurama and Gyuuki.. Meh, dno, just postulating.

The juubi will probably transform again into a third form. This is not the final stage I think.
We have had the fat potato form.
This chapter the thin picasso form.
The next will be a medium form.

Not saying one way or the other, but I kind of think that the form is dependent on the consciousness. Meaning if Naruto was to be attached to that thing, I wanna say it would look different. Maybe it will only change it's demon-ish appearance when Naruto becomes the host.

Rikudou said himself that he led the bijuu (the juubi) down the wrong path, and that is why he split it up into 9 because it was to powerful as 10 tails.

Kishi never had it planned. I think the Juubi looks like crap, a hand in each one of it's tails... I mean WTF !? xd

I think Kishi is going to explain things soon enough and using sasuke and Ororchimaru as the way to explain the things from the start is the best idea.

for a third and probably the perfect form it will need kurama and hichibi's chakra....which it doesnt have...so i guess this is the final form.....
and oh yeah....so6p faced the most powerful form of the juubi....makes you think how powerful he was to defeat that kind of power!!!
