The following ‘theory’ is not to be taken seriously; this is merely an attempt at humor. This was inspired by Sir Derp Obito’s many theories which interpret symbolic content in the Naruto manga that point to Shintoism and Buddhism. I do not mean to mock Sir Derp Obito’s theories nor am I mocking Christianity. I apologize in advance if this offends anyone.

Rikudō Sennin was Jesus Christ!
(The tale of NarutoVerse depicted in Verses of Scripture!)
Centuries ago, the sage defeated the most powerful demon in the ninja world, the Ten-Tails, and was praised as a god for the virtue of his victory. In order to protect the world from the Ten-Tails, the Sage developed a certain technique to seal the beast within his own body, giving him the ability to harness and control its overwhelming power.
The beast of Revelations was known to have 7 heads and 10 horns. Coincidence? I think not.
Is it any wonder that the number of the beast is “6-6-6” and Rikudō Sennin was the sage of the “Six” Paths?
Rikudō Sennin conquered the Juubi much in the same manner that Jesus conquered sin and death:
On Good Friday, Jesus was crucified and bore upon himself the hate and sins of the world for all time. He descended into hell dragging the hatred and evil intentions/sins of man with him, defeated the beast “Satan,” and on the third day he rose again.
This is explicitly symbolized by Rikudō Sennin’s quarrel with the Juubi, which represents the both the beast (which is Satan) and the cycle of hatred in the NarutoVerse. Rikudō Sennin bore upon himself the Juubi as its Jinchūriki, using the death reaper seal and surviving; this directly parallels Christ’s resurrection after submissively choosing to be crucified, rather than opposing Pontius Pilate so that he could resurrect and show death what-for.
During Jesus’s resurrection and ascension into the heavens, he left behind his disciples and for a time they wandered about at a loss, unsure of what to do without their savior, whom they had become dependent upon:
I feel this reflects the manner in which Rikudō Sennin left behind the bijū when his time came to depart from the world, and they too were at a loss without their master:
It is also certain that Rikudō Sennin was the original creator of all ninjutsu. This includes walking on water. Jesus demonstrated to Simon Peter that if he had enough faith, that he too could walk upon the water. Similarly, we see this demonstrated when Jiraiya teaches Naruto to have enough faith in himself to do so.
Lastly, the prophesies in the Bible and the prophecy in NarutoVerse both indicate the second coming of the world’s savior! It is a logical certainty that Kishimoto has taken inspiration from Christianity when writing the Naruto manga!
Once again, I remind you that none of this is to be taken seriously. Even I, as a Christian myself, believe this level of humor is acceptable.
