So, I've decided to make a thread after a long time, posting 3 recordings of mine of Chopin's Revolutionary etude, as kind of a commemoration of Naruto's and Sasuke's revolutions. I'm also curious which one out of the 3 do you think sounds the best (coz sadly, none of them is flawless).

Well I'm also more like a Naruto fan, but I don't remember ever bashing Sasuke...I just dislike his attitude for most of the times. No wonder his type of revolution failed :Sparks:

Haahha me too he annoys me. I was watching an interview of the american voice actors and one of them said sasuke was emo lol

Thanks Well yeah the first one is the fastest but the quality of the video is best at the second imo...tho all were made by my shitty phone camera Zzz With this phone even if I play piano, it'll sound at least mezoforte...
And yeah I could never speed it up to some crazy asian guy's level xd I've seen people playing it in 2 minutes...albeit with much more flaws than me. But somehow this piece is more tricky than one would think...they say it's one of the easier etudes but the two times I've heard a pianist playing this live, they both made blatant mistakes. Just 1,5 months ago I heard Valentina Lisitsa live, she played it as an encore, but made some mistakes. But of course she still brought the spirit of the piece out better than I ever could.

I understand what you're saying. Even Bunin's performance of this piece (which happens to be my favorite interpretation of it) has some technical flows in it.
But in the end, for me, the thing that matters the most, as you mentioned, is to bring out the spirit of the revolutionary etude correctly and vividly. Some minor technical flows might even add more more dramatic quality to the piece at as long as the musical aspects are all on spot...
So, yeah, technical perfection is essential but even more so essential is to fully understand the piece musically like the pros do. That's when those minor flows fade unnoticed.

Our tastes are similar, coz Bunin's is my fav too :flowers In fact the first recording I've heard of this piece was that of Bunin, on a CD featuring him and Dang Thai Son as winners of the Chopin Competition.
