Pure genius.

I mean, how better to mitigate casualties in extreme situations such as a mass shooting or a building fire than limiting the number of entrances/exists to the building?

Can't believe we've never thought of this before. Someone give this man the nobel peace prize.

What if we give the doors their own guns?

What a popular video... The few cringe-worthy comments are just what i'd expect from the trash you surround yourself with. Btw is that your Youtube channel?

I thought what he proposed was perfectly reasonable and made sense. And at least it's better than nothing. Wich is what you do, nothing. Aside from fantasizing about gun regulations and argueing with other people on the forums every day. Yeah... You go, i think you deserve the nobel prize not that guy. The nobel prize of salt and degeneracy that is, he deserves the real deal tbh. Perhaps it doesn't stop the problem but more security is definitely a step forward.

This is honestly a better solution than what's being offered in popular politics. It does what most people on the right or left fail to do which is after offering a solution; rationalize to what cost and effect the solution is viable, and determine the means of achieving this solution. Where this governor fails is fully rationalizing the practicality of reducing the number of possible exits, which is honestly stupid in the context of a school shooter entering what's theoretically the only exit to the school, trapping thousands of students like pigs at a slaughterhouse. The idea of reducing the number of entrances, though, is not that bad of an idea.

If schools were to limit school entry to one or two entrances and beef up security at those locations, possibly put a check-in-point between outside and the students, I believe a school schooter would have a harder time committing as mass shooting. The school can retain the same amount of exits, ensuring that they're only one-way exits where people can only exit. The only theoretical flaw I see with this solution is the possibility of the school shooter having an accomplice who grants them entry from one of the exits, giving them a golden opportunity to wreak havoc, but that's statistically improbable, seeing as how nothing of the like has happened before. Thinking back to my high school, there were far too many two-way entrances to count; from the auditorium, to the gym, to a north, south, east, and west entrance, to a cafeteria entrance, and even a library entrance, so I personally dont see this solution as being unwarranted.

I'm rewatched this video 5, 8, 10 times now, and even though you framed this as something worthy of mockery, it's honestly not that bad of an idea if refined.

He does have a point. Many schools have very open access throughout the entire building. One can easily walk in one of several back or side doors without much issue, and even though many of these are supposed to be used only for emergency exits - they are just not properly secured as they should be for use as purely exits.

Not that I think it has that much to do with the school shooting problem. It would, however, help cut down on drug and *** trafficking in schools.

Don't you think it's a little impractical?
I'm not just laughing at the guy like most people are.

People could still get in through windows and limited entrances makes the place a fire hazard, if you had security and only one exit/entrance then what stops the shooter from killing the security and then the people inside can only get out through the place he is at?

How would you refine it? Are you going to live in a world where there is security, at every campus, walking around protecting people from possible terrorists? Don't you think he is just dodging a bullet with this?

The main takeaway from this is that it doesn't address the shooter in any capacity as the shooters are often students, not just random strangers charging into the building with guns blazing.

And when it comes to "security," the past few school shootings had armed security that did nothing.
