I had this idea that would be fairly easy to implement and has the strong keys of having the whole community as an insurance that it can not be exploited for trolling and stuff. The idea is well explained in a thread I started in Naruto Discussion. And transcribed here:
In resume it would be to replace the hottest threads with the better rated, and removing them from said top after a week. Also making this mode the default mode to see threads when you open the sub forums. This would grant that on the top there are always thread the community considers to be useful, wise and enlightening rather than fanboy flame wars, piss contest or troll threads.
People are naturally drawn to post on those threads but they don't usually thank them or like them. So this would promote interesting new threads and ideas rather than the same flame threads everyday.
It's not important at all, it's just the perversion of the system. I scan the threads by the number of posts in it. Every time a threads get's bumped it goes up and therefore besides new threads all others are threads with massive posting. At least half of these threads are like the one I used for example, where 7 out of every 10 posts are posts disproving the theory.
What ends up happening is that in a mater of a day or less highly interesting theories get buried in page 4 with only 10 or 20 posts... If there was a mod to organise threads by the amount of thanks and likes on them it would work pretty much better.

ok i don't know if i am talking stupid , can't it be done that moderator decide which thread to go to the hottest ...? based on thing like
1 => how much proof does it have
2 => if it's trying to put a flame war
3 => trying to hurt particular set of people (religiously)
and many more .!!

Precisely, and the worst part is that it could be easily avoided by a little bit of code. All that is needed in order to properly rate the threads on their content is already in place, you can rate them on a scale from 0 to 5, you can like them and you can even thank them. NB has already the best way to do this without any effort, THE COMMUNITY ITSELF is a rating program! It would make much more simple to find interesting threads.
For threads older than a weak this could go off so they would gradually be buried down...

I dont know if you could, but perhaps you could propose this to someone who can do something about it. Because that is a really good idea.

Yes, and there is nothing wrong on doing so but people do not usually thank/like for troll/fanboy threads. But they do when they see a nice and well thought theory. Replacing the Top posted for the top rated+liked+thanked would make it much more interesting and would be much harder to skim your way up into exposure. Either you make good threads and many people agree on that or you wont get much exposure.

I wonder who should I send it to, or where should I post it... I reckon there must be mods rumbling these forums somewhere and they should probably stumble on this eventually... But maybe I'm just wishful thinking.

You keep posting that idea, but we can't do anything about it.
If you really want that system implemented, make a thread in the Questions/Suggestions thread and see what the mods and community say about it.
