Reorganising the fanfiction section?

I'll admit, I'm not an avid reader of the fanfiction on this site, but it seems to me that the fanfiction section could be rearranged. (If there is already a thread like this, I'm sorry. I did check for one, but couldn't find any.)

Anyway. It's just that, for each new chapter of a story, you start a new thread. That means that this clutters up the fanfic section, and makes it harder for readers to navigate. I write fanfiction myself- in fact, my longest story has 37 chapters now, and the only reason I haven't posted it on this site is because the idea of doing 37 seperate threads- or even a few huge ones- isn't that appealing.

Perhaps there could be a new system arranged? I don't know, a seperate part of site specially for fanfiction, arranged by the authors username. When you click on their name, you're directed to a page with a list of things they've written?

I know that I'm not explaining this very well, and for that, I apologise.

No worries you explained it very well and I always like to hear nice suggestions ^^
Yours is indeed nice, but you see most people write fanfictions that have up to 5 or 6 chapters and then they stop the project.
Only few of them, currently 2 to be exact, have written more than 10 chapters, therefor up till now there was no need for a classification like the one you are suggesting now.

For anything like this to be created we need administrators' powers and most of all members approval, but again most people here do not read the fan fictions, or they read a chapter or 2 and then forget about it. Most not all. So they won't bother :S

The only thing that I find possible to happen is a FanFiction subforum, but still that doesn't solve the problem of many threads. Cause, if I got it right, you are technically suggesting a subforum for every user-author where you will be able to see the separated threads-chapters all together in the same section.
So if this is to happen it must happen only for the members that have written at least 10 chapters and they are going to write more in the future, and actually that means 2 members

Still if the members are up for it, I am too

I'm up for it. I know that if this idea was actually put together, I would definitely start posting my stories on here. It's just that I don't like the current format- though I do agree with what you said about the fanfiction writers, and readers.

I suppose that more writers might emerge with this idea in force, though... who knows?

Then, we must let this thread here and see if the other members are up for it.
If it gets approval we can ask the admins about it, although I don't know if they are going to like the idea :S

But yes, I hope that more writers will emerge and more members will be intrigued still until then, why don't you post something of your work?
