Yes.

No, because they aren't like another, not even in terms of ideological weaponry.

No, because Elementary Mathematics does not equal Algebra

If you're paid for it

Is not equitable

You're confused with what is and can be considered one thing while still being inferior to some. Music is, at its very core, loose, abstract, and non-conformist (does not bend to rules set forth by others, except for mathematical laws placed upon it). Music can be defined as anything someone can do when they manipulate sound waves with anything they have. If they have even the most miniscule degree of proficiency with this, they are a musician. Saying being a musician has boundaries to cross is demeaning the very definition of music itself, because you are applying rules to it.

It's simple: I told you that Music is, by it's very definition, a loose, abstract ideology, and you didn't like that, because you didn't want to think Justin Bieber is still in the right. Yeah, his music sucks. Is it music? Sorry to say, but yeah it is. I am a musician. Those boys playing in the college games are musicians. The children in middle school learning how to play their instruments are musicians.

Do we suck? On what terms? In the professional world, yeah.

But do we still produce music, which is what the definition of a musician is? YES.

I hate to revive old threads such as these, but I must say John Mayer is very good guitar player. I also hate to say this as well: Brad Paisley is very good guitar player.
