[Debate] Regular Ninjas vs Regular Pirates

First off they could go out and sneak up onto the ship if it was within sight. Secondly if they were in the ocean they wouldn't bother killing them until they returned. Third smoke bombs and drunken idiots with guns would make for a nasty fight that pirates aren't used to.

What makes you assume pirates were actually drunken idiots? Because a movie depicted them as that?
