[Suggestion] Registrations

I'm aware this has been requested and answered several times before, but I would like to state my own opinion on the matter... and add one more vote to the request :

For one thing, we all wish this, I myself long to see new blood on the grounds of our forum I wish to welcome a 2014'er as a noob =D

I know the Admins probably have a viable reason for closing registrations. I myself have had to result to such drastic measures in the past towards a previous forum that I owned, as a result of spammers and bots excessively occupying the forum, however it is meant to be used as a temporary solution, until the forum has been cleaned or reseted, not a permanent one.

I know this is Staff decision, and I'm trying to be understanding, but whichever way I look at it, it does not seem to be beneficial to the forum anymore.

If registrations is a concern, there are several alternatives that could keep both staff and members satisfied, I,e Invites Only, Temporary Re-Opening, Monitored Registrations, or through Donations. No troll would pay just to make another alt .I realize none of these is easy, and from what I understand registrations were closed for the same reason, spammers and trolls overworking the site, however closing registrations permanently is simply avoiding the problem, not a solution - and with the number of Mods increasing, while the number of members decreasing, I imagine by now the site has been neatly cleaned.

So the Question comes to mind, why is Registration still closed? No matter what, problems always rise - you may have already realized that closing registrations is no exception, infact it might have a worse effect in the long run. For instance I have noticed agitation and friction starting between the members already due to extreme boredom, for a forum as big as this one, closing registrations is like locking us members in a room and throwing away the key.

Everyday we lose more members as they go back to their lives, or simply move on, thats normal we all do sooner or later but the problem now is there are no new members to replace them, and their places feel even more empty and our hearts start to feel as empty coming here as we ourselves begin to want to leave, I know several members who already have left for this very reason.

I'm sure most of us agree that Naruto manga is not what it used to be, and it has lost a lot of fans, which already has had a negative impact on the forum, and with registrations being closed, its like shutting the door to the Naruto fans completely without any regard for their feelings, and invested time.

As Staff, we must put everyone on equal grounds, even the guests. Some cant be favored over others, and if problem rises, it is our job to solve it accordingly in a way that would benefit the forum of course but also give everyone an equal chance.


Versuvio and Zise, surely I do not know your real reasons for closing registrations, but I cannot fnd a single viable reason why this forum should stay closed. This is not a suggestion, nor a complaint. This is a plead on behalf of all members, including myself.

Not even a month ago now and there are like 4 to 10 bans. :/ I know it cool to have new members once again. But the chance of the same trollies joining us again is rather higher than new innocents.


Edit- The real reason was to prevent trolls from joining. They caused spam, mod bashing etc. or so I have been informed.
I think once everything has calmed down it might get back to who it was in the past~

Now this thread has also been made several other times, with the same answer. I would appreciate no other post after my own until a moderator closes this thread, inputs his opinion or simply does what they find fit as the moderators of this section.

Last but not least, consider this a warning to all those who have broken the rules replying in this thread. Do not bash, flame, insult or question the actions of the staff, and do not spam unnecessary comments.

Okay, the registrations have been closed for more than one reason, however, the most readily perceivable one is the persistence of numerous trolls. Now, when I say trolls, I'm not talking about people that make a few spam threads every blue moon and then settle down. There've been a plethora of people that have come to this site with nothing more than the desire to screw with it and everyone who frequents it, and they thought it'd be cool to do so by making dozens of alts. Everyone who thinks it's a simple click to permanently get rid of a knowledgable, stubborn troll clearly has no idea what they're talking about. Oh, and it seems I need to state, once again, that it was not the moderators who closed registrations; we don't have that power, never had it. The administrators, the people who built this site and have sustained it, mutually decided upon closing the registrations temporarily, which was not an easy thing for them to step up and do. If you think any staff member actually enjoys having registrations closed, temporarily or not, you are sadly mistaken. Though the high numbers of trolls is indeed an issue, there are a few other issues that have deeply impacted the length of closure. As it is, such issues are matters only for the NB administrators, and no, no one else is entitled to know about them.

These posts state all you need to know. The responses will not change. You aren't alone in your wanting of the opening of the registration and the mods know it. Just give it time.

Yeah, patience. The community is dead And trolling still, pretty much goes on, I wonder how they'll remove that, I'm still seeing threads in the NDS section which were pretty comparable to the times when nB hadn't closed reg. while removing reg certainly tames it down, tho.

If you can try and change the Mods and Admins mind than Good Luck Time Lord, I just have to say it wont be easy.
Lastly I agree with everything you are saying disabling registration is just simply taking the easy way out.

This topic has been created more than once, and there is numerous answers to this matter. We will open the registrations when we can and feel like doing so. I know a lot of you have concerns regarding the registrations being closed that it's directly harmful toward the site and so on, but really the only thing that is true about it is that the quality of threads have lowered a bit, same discussions between same people, and I do understand that you want new people to discuss things with. So it does not have to do with us changing our minds or anything, I'm pretty certain we have the same vision as you members. However to open the registration currently would be directly harmful toward the site, and I hope you can understand this and be further patient, and make up some interesting new discussions on the forum and be a part of making the site more interesting again.

And to all of you that can post and have forgotten this; you already have an account and you don't need a new alt to make an interesting post. You can't just sit back and expect that everyone else is gonna come up with the interesting topics and threads.. start your creative engines, and I promise things will be better soon!
