I have 2 quick questions. Please don't be mad at me, if the answer is obvious. Its impolite to do so. U_U

SHANKS SCAR QUESTION

When Shanks goes to meet with Whitebeard and talks with him. He warns Shirohige to call back Ace from prosecuting Teach, aka Blackbeard. Then metaphorically says that he got the scars on his face from "blackbeard"...

But my question , is that...how did that even happen lol? When Shanks and his crew is at Luffy's village. Shanks still has those scars..so when exactly did Blackbeard & Shanks fight?

At the begin of series with same scar

Shanks with EXACT same scar later on

Because i don't think, Blackbeard left whitebeard pirates till heaps later on....Kindly, can someone please further explain?

Also, Whitebeard in the following video states " just be seeing you, makes that wound given by that bastard ache again"....just who do you reckon is that "bastard". Most obviously one of Shanks crew but which one? Take a guess
xd

teach didn't have to leave WB crew to fight Shanks, they're pirates, not best buddies, Shanks even fought WB in his own Ship, so why wouldn't Teach attack him before.

And as for that man I always tought it was Roger.

It most definitely means that BB cheap-shotted him whilst the WB pirates casually punched on with the Roger Pirates.

EDIT: "that bastard" obviously means BB. :|

I don't know...about Teach getting a cheap shot on Shanks...I mean when Shanks was talking to Whitebeard didn't Shanks say something along the lines of "It's not like I wasn't being careful" Referring to his scars.

Also I always thought it was Gol D Roger who have Whitebeard that scar.

The scar the old man speaks of was from Roger as Shanks and Buggy were on the Oro-Jackson so seeing Shanks reminded him of his days with Roger, further evident when he goes on to ask ''where is the talkative(or was it red nose I don't remember but he clearly meant Buggy) kozo u were always with?''
As for Shanks' scar what stands out for me is Shanks say its not that I wasn't careful, and here I believe BB without yami nomi is fodder, but he got the jump on Shanky. So it got me thinking the only way this would happen is when Shanky had just became a captain and not the strong Yonko that many fear and hate.
What he says about not forgetting the scar I theorise it now being a kenboshoku haki thing were he senses the evil intentions of BB now that BB has the strength to do the evil.

Hope it makes sense and were it doesn't don't flame me!

Blackbeard gave him those scars a LONG time ago, most likely when he was still a pirate on Whitebeards crew. In a flashback on fish-man Island it showed him with the weapon he used on Shanks.

Not sure about Whitebeard's wound though.

I'm inclined to agree with the first response Roger Pirates fought Whitebeard pirates. Shanks and Teach were underlings who fought, Teach scarring Shanks in the process. Then the captains fight, Roger scarring Whitebeard in the process.

I doubt it even matters who gave WB his scar. Since WB is dead and if Roger gave it, la-di-da; matters not to the story. With that being said, BB giving him the wound would -if anything - be better (since he's alive).
