None of this explains why Kaguya feels hatred in the first place. How did she start the curse, if she didn't have any problems that made her hate something?
With Indra and Ashura the cause is clear: Hagoromo chose one over the other, when both felt that they were worthy. THIS is what started the cycle of hatred, because the Senju were picked over the Uchiha.
Later with Hashirama and Madara, There are several more reasons why Madara would continue to be hateful:
1) Madara's brother was killed by Tobirama
2) Madara wanted to be Hokage, but the people chose Hashirama instead
3) Let's face it, Tobirama was a bit of a jerk.
With Sasuke and Naruto things are a bit different. Sasuke's hatred was originally towards his own brother, not Naruto. Sasuke was upset at the fact that Naruto (a loser) was gaining power more quickly than he was, but he never really had a reason to outright hate Naruto. This is why, I think, the cycle is broken: Sasuke hated his brother instead of Naruto, so that now Naruto and Sasuke can be allies.
Kaguya ate the holy fruit and became a despot. She was the most powerful and had all the power, so there was nothing for her to hate. She had two kids, probably lived a long life, and died of natural causes (hated by the people, but none of them had the power to stop her). Nothing in that life story gives her a reason to hate so strongly that her hatred would curse all future generations.
