Reasons why each member joined Akatsuki
So who's reasons do you most sympathize with and who's reasons are you sceptical of ?
Itachi's Reasons:
He murdered his entire clan in what would become known as the Uchiha Family Downfall and defected from the village, becoming an S-rank missing-nin and protected Konoha from the shadows of this deadly organization
Kisame's Reasons:
He killed his master when he realised that he was selling information. Approached by the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, who commended him for his act of loyalty to Kirigakure, Kisame rebuked him and revealed his disillusion. Calling his life of betrayal and murder nothing but a "living lie". "Madara Uchiha" then revealed himself as the one controlling Yagura from the shadows, intimating to Kisame his Eye of the Moon Plan. He realised he wanted to experience this "world of truth"
Kakuzu's Reasons:
When he was still a loyal, elite ninja of Takigakure, Kakuzu took on a mission to assassinate Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. This mission, however, ended in failure due to the might of Hashirama's Wood Release techniques. Despite the insurmountable danger faced in the mission, what awaited his return to his village was the stigma and harsh punishment associated with the failure of his objective. In response to this treatment, a wrong levied against a shinobi who had put life and limb on the line for his village, Kakuzu came to hold a violent hatred to his village.
Hidan's Reasons:
After Yugakure deteriorated from a shinobi village to a tourist site, Hidan became infuriated with how things were turning out. He believed that the shinobi that resided there were meant to kill, and thus slaughtered his neighbours before leaving Yugakure, and joining the cult-like faith known as Jashin.
Deidara's Reasons:
During his days as a shinobi in Iwagakure, Deidara was a member of the Explosion Corps, and possessed the Explosion Release kekkei genkai. Deidara was also praised highly for his clay sculptures. However, he still desired to reach even greater heights. At first, he simply focused on creating more and more works, but before long, he started craving a kinjutsu. He eventually stole it and left the village.
Sasori's Reasons:
When Sasori was young, his father and mother were killed by Sakumo Hatake, leaving him with no one but his grandmother, Chiyo, to take care of him. Lacking a real family he left the village at fifteen and simply became a missing-nin.
Pain/Nagato's Reasons:
Experienced endless pain, from the death of his parents in front of his eyes to the choice between his best friend's lives. Losing everything and living in a place of war he was simply engulfed by it all till it consumed him.
Konan's Reason:
She's Pain's bitch
Tobi's Reason:
The fall of the uchiha and the betrayal of the senju's. He created the akatsuki (the real agenda) the eye of the moon plan to create a world without lies.
Orochimaru's Reason:
Because he's a top-class villian and he had to join the group to prove that he could get in even if he wanted to.
Zetsu's Reason:
Because he's a boss and has no emotional attachment to anything or anyone apart from good tobi
