Reasons behind Itachi's popularity

Now before MODS come in here trying to delete this for some reason like flame baiting, wanking or something else, just know that I'm making this thread as a survey of sorts to help myself further understand the psychology behind why Itachi is so well liked.
So Itachi fans, what is it about Itachi that draws you in, and makes him one of your favorites?

I liked him in part one for being mercilessly brutal, and yet not deriving pleasure from that cruelty and power like Orochimaru did. He was frostily efficient in his aims and his agenda remained hidden.

I liked him in part two for sacrificing everything as a martyr would, but expecting no form of recognition. The ideal of a nameless hero contrasted sharply and favorably with Naruto's ideology of a Christ-like savior.

I like him on these forums and the old MSN forum because he's severely underestimated. People thought Minato could destroy ''in a second'' when it made absolutely zero sense. And now I get to go "na na nana na!"

well i like him because when he fights even in the most dificult situation, he has this calm and secure look on his face. xd

for me besides him looking badass, finding out why he did the things he did, the way he uses his abilities and not necessarily how strong they are, his devotion to the leaf village, how smart he is, honestly i just think he is one of the coolest characters in the show, he is my favorite but im not going to be one of those that argues he is the best or strongest, and i find myself liking characters more after their death, like deidara is my 2nd favorite, then jaraiya and kisame is somewhere up there in my favorites but enough digression, he is a hero, saving the leaf while keeping the uchiha name intact, delaying narutos capture while leaking info on the akatsuki without many knowing, and back to the badass part, everything he did looked badass lol

He's not my favorite, but he is calm and has a kick ass selection of ninjutsu and combat experience.

itachi is a beast! he never does something without a reason!xd! plus everymove that he makes looks way cooler than sasuke and madara! HES WHAT YOU EXPECT A REAL UCHIHA MEMBER TO BE! ELITE

I loved his character in this story. He was so bad ass, yet humble. His appearance just fits right in with his character. His intelligent and observation/analyze on things were quite interesting and amazing at the same time.

At a young age he master his Sharingan, he graduate from the academy at a young age, and became a captain of the ANBU Black Ops at 13 years old. He was never afraid of anyone, and was able to beat the likes of Oro and Deidara in just seconds with his Sharingan.

He loves his village and has a special bond with his little brother more like a father/son bond. He has made the most difficult decisions and has suffered so much but yet has a calm facial expression on his face every time.
