All I have to say is this...
1) Japan is an amazing country with an amazing culture. Sure they have their faults, every nation does.
2) If I were the type that would travel the world, I feel MUCH safer and respected in a Japanese airport than an American airport.
3) The Japanese will rebound after this - like they always do - with a force.
4) Japan are our allies, why the hell are some of us holding a grudge that most of us have moved on from? I'm sure several Japanese hate us for the atomic bombings, but several more have moved on. Those of us that moved on, did something better with our lives.
Personally, I've never been to Japan, but I've met several people from Japan (many of whom I still talk to today). They are some of the most polite, respectable people I've ever met. Especially when I compare them to a random citizen from my home country, who many are actually rude and ignorant.. I'd prefer to be with the Japanese strangers - even when I didn't know Japanese.
