No Naruto as the reincarnate of Ashura was always going to be a good guy that cared about people and worked with his friends.

I'm just stating a fact. Whether he is an Ashura transmigrate or not doesn't really determine if he would end up being a good guy or not.

That's actually kind of a wee bit judgmental on both sides. I doubt that Indra/Ashura's descendants categorize them as either good nor evil on both sides.

They all have their faults. Though none of them are pure 'evil', just some were wronged and lied to.

It was minuscule help, but still help, no denying that. Though the only thing it accomplished was Gai landing an evening elephant. But that's it. Later on Gai realizes that EE isn't going to get the job done, so he finally unleashes Night Gai with no help further help from the others and nearly kills Madara.

In short, my point remains.
