Why isn't it something to cry about? Not everyone believes in life after death. Some see it as the end of life, oblivion. If that is the case, then you will never see your friend or father ever again and the time you could have spent with them was taken from you.

That's exactly why you would cry, because there is nothing you can do about it.

Unlike a father or a friend, one's child dying is on a different scale. A child hasn't even experienced life and all hope that laid on that child to be your family's successor has vanished. A parent outliving their child is devastating.

Every man can hold in tears but eventually you will cry when the realization finally hits you that they are dead. With men, that realization just doesn't click instantly and we think we can endure anything.

But when you get older and really think about what happened, you will shed some tears.

My grand-father served in the military, and in the police. He fought the 1965 war, and worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He cried profusely when my grand mother died. If you even possess a few dregs of his strength as a man, then you would be worth something, or rather, I'll hold you in my estimate. But sadly, you are just a worthless jester out for attention.

True, I don't think there is anything wrong with mourning your loved ones, when I was making this thread I was thinking about life's more mundane circumstances we find ourselves in on a daily basis, I wish I have the same strength as you if I ever have to face a similar situation of losing a loved one.

Truth of the matter is we cry for ourselves, not the loved one that passed away. It's our way of releasing the attachment and dealing with the fact that they're never coming back or we won't see them again(never know for sure, if there is life after death we might very well see each other again). But yeah you're not crying because they're dead, you're crying because you lost them.

I would feel extreme pain and scream like a ***** but I wouldn't cry considering I'll die of blood loss in a minute.
